Focus Area Information/Data Analysis

A. SCHOOL PROFILE
S.Y. 2018-2019 S.Y. 2019-2020 S.Y. 2020-2021 Based from the
data, the school
Enrolment 100 91 86 enrolment for the
past two years has
been decreasing.
According to the
survey conducted
by the school, the
enrolment last
school year 2019-
2020 decreased
due to the transfer
of residence of
some of the
families in the
community while
for school year
2020-2021 some
of the parents are
hesitant in
enrolling their
children to school
because of the
pandemic and if
school offers
modular distance
learning, some of
them cannot
facilitate the
teaching process
because they also
lack the education
to facilitate their
children.
Health and 31 wasted 28 wasted 22 wasted The Department
Nutritional of Education
Status introduced the
School-based
Feeding program
(SBFP) which aims
to address hunger
and encourage
learners to enroll
and contribute to
the improvement
of the children’s
nutritional status.
With its
implementation,
the Nutritional
Status of the
learners at Eligna
Elementary School
is gradually
improving
because it can be
seen in the data
that the number
of wasted children
is decreasing.
Although face to
face classes were
not implemented,
the SBFP
continues through
the distribution of
nutritious bread,
fresh milks and
fruits.

been the problem
of the school. The
books are not
sufficient for the
small number of
learners in the
school and there
was always a
delay in the
delivery of these
learning
resources.

the only one who
has completed her
academic
requirements in
the Master of Arts
in Education. The
school has been
consistently
encouraging
teachers to enroll
themselves in
graduate studies
to be able have
professional
growth and
promotion.
Moreover, the
school in
connection with
DepEd, provides
In-Service
Training for
Teachers to
enhance their
teaching
competencies.

resources came
from the school’s
Maintenance and
Other Operating
Expenses
(MOOE). From 14,
883 last school
year 2018-2019, it
was increased to
17, 417 last school
year 2019-2020.
However, due to
the decrease of
enrolment, it was
decreased to 16,
229 for the
current academic
year. The school
MOOE is utilized in
the payment of
operational
expenses such as
utility and electric
bill and most of its
percentage now
goes in the
printing or
reproduction of
the modules for
the
implementation of
the Blended
Modular Distance
Learning. The
amount of school
resources is very
limited, in this
case proper
planning is very
essential. The
school religiously
follows the school
Annual
Implementation
Plan (AIP) in the
utilization of the
resources. The
needs are
assessed and
prioritized based
on its urgency,
magnitude,
feasibility and
strategic
importance.
Learners-Toilet 1:50 1:45 1:43 With the small
Ratio number of
enrolment, the
school was able to
meet the standard
of the Department
of Education as
stipulated in the
DepEd 2010
handbook which is

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Drop-Out Rate 0 0 0 Eligna Elementary

School maintains
its zero drop-out
rate since school
year 2018-2019
because it
extensively
implements its
program “SAVE
PARDOS” which
aims to keep
those pupils at risk
of dropping out in
school. Once the
child makes an
absent for three
consecutive days
without notice,
the teacher will
communicate with
the parents and
learners.
Moreover,
teachers also
conduct home
visitation to pupils
with problems and
are candidate for
dropping-out so
that the school
would be able to
convince them to
finish their
education.

Promotion Rate 96.70% 95.60 % 98.9 % The school

promotion rate
has been
increasing due to
the extensive
collaboration with
the school and
parents. The
school calls for a
parent-teacher
conference
quarterly so that
parents would be
able to know the
academic
performance of
their children so
that they can do
some follow-ups
at home.
School MPS 65.50 % 69.23% 75.52% For the last two
(1st Quarter) years, it can be
seen that the
school performed
below the
planning standard
of 75% and for
the 1st quarter of
the current school
year it reaches the
standard of 75%.
However, these
achievements are
still low but
gradually we see
some
improvements.
The school
extensively
conducts
classroom
monitoring to
teachers in the
teaching and
learning process
to ensure that
they will utilize the
best strategies
possible to meet
the needs of their
learners.

level. This means
that the learners
of Eligna
Elementary School
can hardly read
and if they can
already read, they
cannot
comprehend what
they read. The
school intensifies
its reading
program, wherein
every 12:30 to 1,
the teachers
conduct remedial
teaching in
reading.
Currently, even
though the school
implements
distance learning,
it still provides
reading materials
that are suited to
the reading ability
level of the
learners for
continuity of their
learning. If pupils
reading
performance is
low, they most
likely perform low
as well in the
different subject
areas.
C.OTHER INFORMATION
Eligna Elementary School is a multigrade school, wherein groups of learners of different grade
levels are taught in a single classroom, or two or more grades are taught by one teacher. This
scenario has been the complaints of the teachers newly assign in the school because during college
days, they were not exposed to a multigrade situation. Then, if these teachers were being provided
with multigrade trainings, the next year they already file for transfer to another school near their
residence and another teacher with no background in multigrade instruction is being replaced and
this becomes the cycle. If the Department of Education could only see the problem in this setting,
they should have removed the multigrade settings in the Philippines and make all schools a
monograde school so that teachers will have a focus on one grade level and they can expect for
quality teaching performance and quality output.
