Summary Analysis on Religious Group Leader Interview

Religious leaders are often the most respected figures in their communities. Buddhist
monks and nuns, imams, pastors, priests, punjaris and leaders of other faith communities play a
powerful role in shaping attitudes, opinions, and behaviors because their members trust them.
Ms. Rowena B. Alboro is a religious leader of Jesus World Mission Church Phase 3, Mabuhay
City, Mamatid, Cabuyao, Laguna. She has given a chance to lead the financial and music
ministry department.

As a financial leader, Ms. Rowena gives importance to budget management as a


fundamental leadership skill. This serves her church a sustainability to continue serving and
proposing projects. Having a good financial skill also helps the church to save money for other
beneficial programs. Ms. Rowena believes that leadership is not measured by how well you do
your task as a leader but more so how you love the position and the responsibility that has been
trusted to you. Ms. Rowena also ensures that all the projects of the church will be executed
properly. She managed to scratch out things first before budgeting and entering it in financial
books to have a smooth budget system for the projects. Her goals on being a good leader was to
realize failure to realize your full potential and to give you the drive to do better and to see where
you are lacking. Ms. Rowena believes that leadership does not start from the top, you should
always start from the lowest and realize where you could give and provide something as a leader.
When it comes to experiencing failure, Ms. Rowena had felt embarrassed but sooner she realized
that comparing to her being a singer, it is the same thing. You should not be embarrassed about
something that you are passionate about. When you overcome this phase of doubt, that is when
God will motivate you to do more and to be better because you know to yourself that you have a
lot of room for improvement. When asked about the difficult decision she must make as a leader,
Ms. Rowena revealed that it always scares her to handle money or do financial activities. She
believes that sins start with money but as per her experience being the head of financial
department of her church for five years, she knows that she can do such things because she can
overcome small things and achieve big things and learned how to face temptation when it comes
to her work. Discipline and commitment to her position is the key to overcome challenges that is
given to her in her journey as a religious leader of the church. Usually, she takes care of children
in the church, she believes that you as an adult should learn how to adopt to children behavior to
get their trust and to make them obey you. As per we all know that the attention span of children
are very limited, she has managed to handle these children with ease.

Overall, it may be said that Ms. Rowena’s governing skills are based on ethical values
and spiritual beliefs. She has proven that having ethical manners will let you determine what is
right and what is wrong, especially with her position as a financial department head. She
represents herself as a responsible and committed person that is willing to maintain and share the
knowledge of good governance skills to her fellow church members.
