A prior Knowledge on the Topics covered as part of  Unix TechLounge will be additional to
start learning related to Unix­Basic Module.

As part of Unix ­ Basic Level, following are the topics covered ­

Unix Architecture & File system
Basic commands
Filters and Pipes  
Basic Shell Programming
Processes and System calls

 Course Duration – 5 days

Expectation –

By the end of this course, the participant must be able to know about the Unix architecture
and the file system. He/she should be able to apply the file handling commands and other
basic commands. He/she should be able to apply the simple filters, must be able to answer
the complex queries through the proper usage of piping and combining the simple
commands. One should be able to implement the concept of shell scripting.

One Assessment on OS­ Unix will be conducted

Environment Setup

It is mandatory for everyone to practice the commands in Unix .The environment can be set
up by downloading the software from the following url.:
        https://cygwin.com/install.html (https://cygwin.com/install.html)

From this URL, you can download the Cygwin set up and install according to your Windows
OS versions (32 bit or 64 bit).

To find if your Windows OS is 32 bit or 64 bit, do the following step

Based on the version you can select the setup application and run to install.
