In November 2016, four villages in Minhla township, Myanmar received the results of a land mapping study conducted by USAID's Land Tenure Project. [1] Community members participated in land assessments and mapping activities in 2015 to determine village boundaries and catalog land use. [2] On November 8th, each village received a folio containing maps, tables, and land use policy data from the study. [3] Government officials from relevant ministries welcomed the results and were pleased with the community involvement in the project.

LOCAL PROJECT PARTNERS Local Government Leaders Welcome Land Tenure Public Network MinHla Stakeholders Township at PS#1 Land Tenure team members and civil society organization leaders met with government following the event in Minhla Vilage. Government Farmer and Land Workers Union at PS#2 officials from GAD, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics welcomed the results of the village tract CONTACT DETAILS activities. This meeting was significant as the first time government authorities could view the new documentation and all three government Nick Thomas, ministries overseeing land were present for review.
