Sources for Polity

1. For Prelims Laxmikanth Indian Polity Book is enough

2. For important articles of Constitution Bare act can be referred for good understanding, especially Art 1 to Art 51

3. Corridor Lectures are best to understand Polity

To complete entire Polity, 3 playlists need to be seen. Coverage is far more than Laxmikanth and fulfils the demand
of mains also for all the topics taught. Mains only topics which are not in prelims syllabus will be covered after
prelims.

1. Laxmikanth Polity Playlist

Sources for Economy

1. Economic Survey & Budget Summary needs to be done from Vision IAS but if you have already gone through any
other summary then stick to that. Vision IAS summary is available for free on their website in both English and Hindi.
They have also conducted free session on this topic on their YouTube channel. Alternatively you can watch Rau IAS
Videos but for text refer VISION IAS Summary if you have not read Economic Survey already from any source.

2. India Year Book can be skipped but if you have time then read IAS Score summary of India Year Book. It is
available for free on their website. It does not matter whether summary is of 2020 or 2021. It is only in English
medium so Hindi medium can read any other summary of your choice. Material is easily comprehensible and not
even so important so no need to worry. Personal advice is that you can ignore India Year Book. But in case you are
done with everything else which is more important then there is no harm doing it.

3. Government Schemes can be read from Vision IAS or Shankar IAS compilation. It is advised to go with Shankar IAS
because return of investment is more in Shankar IAS. Hindi medium aspirants need to read from Vision IAS only.
https://www.iasparliament.com/downloads

4. Government Policies like Smart India, Digital India, Make in India etc. should be Googled and important provisions
like aim, objectives, components, progress of policies etc. should be noted down. Hindi medium should take help of
Drishti IAS website only.

5. Those who are reading monthly magazine of Vision should revise that according to the targets/syllabus/section
given for a day. Anyone who is not reading monthly of Vision IAS should read PT 365. Meaning of 1/5th is that you
should complete that much portion/fraction/part/percentage page wise or section wise or chapter wise as per your
convenience.

6. Insights compilation of Current Affairs MCQ of one year compiled month wise can be downloaded from Insight
on India website for free in both Hindi/ English.

7. One hour revision time should be exclusively reserved everyday for any pending task, ideally in the morning.

8. Any other pending task or revision should be completed on days which have no tests or only CSAT tests or are
allotted for revision exclusively.

Economy Foundation Sources

NCERT Indian Economic Development + NCERT Macroeconomics or Sri Ram IAS Economics Book or any other
standard book.

Hindi medium students can read from Sanjiv Verma.

Sources for Art & Culture and History

1.Ancient History and medieval History foundational learning can be done through Tamil Nadu Class 11 History or
Old NCERT. If you have already read one of these then do not do the other one. If you are just starting then do Tamil
Nadu Class 11 History.

2. Tamil Nadu Class 11 History has two editions: Old and New. If you have already done the old one then stick to it
otherwise new one is better.

3. For everyone, reading New NCERT History after Tamil Nadu/Old NCERT is must. Only Class 6,7,8, 12 Theme 1 and
12 Theme 2 need to be done.

4. For Art and Culture we need to read two books: First is NCERT Fine Art of Class 11 and Second one is Nitin
Singhania Art & Culture

4. For Modern History you only need to read Spectrum Modern History. But if you have already read Bipin Chandra
book then stick to it.

Sources for Geography

1. New NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 all 4 books. But Economic & Human Geography is less important.

2. Oxford or Orient Black Swann Atlas

4. KBC Nano Geography through maps book

4. Corridor lectures on Geography are best but still ongoing. You can watch here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z84Sx0ENe9w&list=PLUxQaPfxTenkJLaaRZYn_oEhjzB9eMJsO

For complete lectures you can watch Rajtanil Solanki lectures for free on Mrunal YouTube Channel

5. Doing GC Leong after this much is not necessary

6. No need to do locations in news separately. You can locate important locations from PT 365, especially
International relations & Environment PT 365.
Sources for Environment
1. Environment series of Corridor is first best source
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2JtXy_ETVg&list=PLUxQaPfxTenlvR-GYucKId2SV0KHtmgtD

videos which are private can be seen here on telegram

https://telegram.me/joinchat/VjrmC4L_MP0nN4pq

In the name of PT 365 comprehensive coverage of Environment is done

2. For any topic which is not covered: Refer PMF IAS Environment latest booklet. You can buy from their website. It
is very affordable. No need to read Shankar IAS after this.

3. KBC Nano Geography through maps book for mapping part of Environment

Sources for Science & Technology

1. Best content on S& T was made by Corridor especially for UPSC. It is a 19 hours video covering PT 365 of May
2019 to Feb 2020 but it discusses everything is so much detail that it is still very useful for UPSC 2021.

You can download it from this telegram channel

https://telegram.me/joinchat/VjrmC4L_MP0nN4pq

Or Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1END_pO_ZwWZzjwWjeWJ5Pwj-

ekkE_13H?usp=sharing

In the name of PT 365 comprehensive coverage of S&T is done

2. In Science & Technology UPSC generally asks current affairs and emerging technology based questions but as per
syllabus it is free to ask general science. Noticing the trends in last few years, you need to refer to NCERT Biology of
Class 12 for some topics.

Chapter-8: Human Health and Diseases NCERT Class 12 Biology

Chapter-9: Strategies for Enhancement in Food Production NCERT Class 12 Biology

Chapter-10: Microbes in Human Welfare NCERT Class 12 Biology

Chapter-11: Biotechnology – Principles and Processes NCERT Class 12 Biology

Chapter-12: Biotechnology and its Application NCERT Class 12 Biology

Apart from this you can read basics of Cell biology, Bacteria, Viruses etc. from Google but do not give it more than 3
hours.
