part of the module. Objectively look into
the details that make it effective and
confusing.

Exercises:
A. Checking for Clarity
1.Draw a small x over misspelled words.
2. Encircle phrases with nouns that are
inappropriately modified by adjectives;
verbs inappropriately modified by adverbs;
and wrong subject – verb agreement.
3. Check if there are slangs or difficult
words used. Provide a comment on its
effectiveness or ineffectiveness.
4.Find out if the piece has a good focus by
checking on the overall development of the
piece’s main topic (for essay, biography,
journal, autobiography, etc) or plot (for
memoirs, story, etc).

5.See if there is a balance input of facts
and opinions. Highlight them by using
