The Project • Solid modeling project is one of the important aspects in this course where it brings 30% of marks. • This design project is target to meet the requirements of the University which offer high quality learning through student-centered learning by implementation of a PO-PBL (Project Oriented -Problem Based Learning) activity The Outcome • At the end of this project, students will be able to improve their drawing techniques using Solidworks and technical report writing skills. • Ability to justify a Drawing project in a formal report. • Produce drawing with proper scale and dimensioning. • Practice with appropriate modeling techniques to generate an intricate shapes and complicated design. Guidelines • The project will be carried out in groups where each group has 4 to 5 members. • In this project, students have to model out the existing product. • The product must be available among the members. • The owner of the product will communicate with groups member to come out with the initial sketching complete with dimensions. (online or offline) • It is compulsory to show the product in the report. • The selected product must portable, medium size, easy to dissemble and measure, have moving mechanism – for motions and animation.. (example, Clock – multiple set of gear that move the hand of clock, fan etc) Validations of project originality *Students caught for plagiarism will be given ZERO (0) for the project.
• The project can’t come from any
references such as YouTube, grabcad or any potential resources. • The originality of the works will be verify by the panels. • The Solidworks file part and assembly file must be submitted for Plagiarism check. • The photo of the existing product must be include at the report The project will be evaluated as follows:
• Final Project Report (20 marks)
• Presentation (Modeling, Product animation and simulation) (10 marks)
