Acknowledgement

I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to my

project guide Mr.Umesh Ahire as well as our college principal Dr. Bharat
Shinde, the head of the Computer Department Mr. Joshi Gajanan R. who
gave me the golden opportunity to do this wonderful project on the topic
College Voting System, which also helped me in doing a lot of research in
Software Engineering and I came to know about so many about so many new
things for which I am really thankful to them.
Secondly I would like to thank my parents and friends who
helped me a lot in finalizing this project within the limited time frame.

Feasibility Study

What is a Feasibility Study?

A feasibility study is an analysis of how successfully a project can be completed,
accounting for factors that affect it such as economic, technological, legal and scheduling factors.
A feasibility study tests the viability of an idea, a project or even a new business. The goal of a
feasibility study is to place emphasis on potential problems that could occur if a project is
pursued and determine if, after all significant factors are considered, the project should be
pursued.

Feasibility studies allow companies to determine and organize all of the necessary details
to make a business work. A feasibility study helps identify logistical problems, and nearly all
business-related problems, along with the solutions to alleviate them.

Technical feasibility
Technical Feasibility assessment is based on an outline design of system requirements, to
determine whether the company has the technical expertise to handle completion of the project.
When writing a feasibility report, the following should be taken to consideration:

 A brief description of the business to assess more possible factors which could affect the
study
 The part of the business being examined
 The human and economic factor
 The possible solutions to the problem

The technical feasibility assessment is focused on gaining an understanding of the present

technical resources of the organization and their applicability to the expected needs of the
College Voting System

proposed system. It is an evaluation of the hardware and software and how it meets the need of
the proposed system.

Economic feasibility
The purpose of the economic feasibility assessment is to determine the positive economic
benefits to the organization that the proposed system will provide. It includes quantification and
identification.

Operational feasibility
Operational feasibility is the measure of how well a proposed system solves the
problems, and takes advantage of the opportunities identified during scope definition and how it
satisfies the requirements identified in the requirements analysis phase of system development.

The operational feasibility assessment focuses on the degree to which the proposed
development projects fits in with the existing business environment and objectives with regard to
development schedule, delivery date, corporate culture and existing business processes.

To ensure success, desired operational outcomes must be imparted during design and
development. These include such design-dependent parameters as reliability, maintainability,
supportability, usability, disposability, sustainability, affordability and others. These parameters
are required to be considered at the early stages of design if desired operational behaviors’ are to
be realized. A system design and development requires appropriate and timely application of
engineering and management efforts to meet the previously mentioned parameters. A system
may serve its intended purpose most effectively when its technical and operating characteristics
are engineered into the design. Therefore, operational feasibility is a critical aspect of systems
engineering that needs to be an integral part of the early design phases
College Voting System

Problem Description
Existing system for election of College University Representative (UR)
is consist of lots of paperwork. this is manual type of system. This system has
large requirement of human power for polling booth and calculating result of
voting. It is very time consuming system for students. In this system, fake
voting also done by voters.
It involves large management for polling booth and counting unit of voting
system. Also large mistakes are takes place within counting. It is very slow
process because, in this long time is required for counting of system.
College Voting System

Existing System
 The existing system is Manual.
 In that the voting is done at college voting booth.
 In that Result calculation takes very much time. So it is very time
consuming process.
 It involves voting on paper So dummy voting can be takes place. And
counting is not properly done in this system.
 In this system the management is very poor.
College Voting System

Drawbacks of Existing System

 Time Consuming Process.
 Duplicate Votes.
 Poor Management.
 Hard process.
 Lots of paperwork.
College Voting System

Scope of Proposed System

 This Voting System is consisting of only computer data.
 It contains voting at secured polling booth on day of voting.
 In this system, students are identified by their unique college m-id and
also classified by their courses, classes and division.
 By that fake voting cannot be done in this system. In this system, minor
mistakes can be avoided and result is also quickly calculated.

Hardware and Software

Requirement

Software Requirement:
 IDE: Wampserver or xampp.
 Browser: Google Chrome.
 Operating System: Windows or Other Compaitable OS.
 Back End: MySQL.
 Front End: PHP.

Hardware Requirement:
 Processor: Intel Core I3 and Above
 Hard Disc: 320 GB
 RAM: 1GB
College Voting System

Feasibilty Study
1. Technical Feasibility:

 It does not require any additional software or hardware for this

system.
 It can run on already existing software on computer like browsers
(Mozilla Firefox, google Chrome, Internet Explorer)
 That’s why this system is technically feasible.

2. Economical Feasibility:

 This system does not require any special software orhardware.

 So that this project is not very costly.
 Therefore, this system is Economically Feasible.
College Voting System

3. Operational Feasibility:

 This system is User Friendly and it does not require any special
training for operating this system.
 so that this system is only require computer at time of voting.
 Therefore, this system is Operationally Feasible.
