Waste can be solid, liquid and gas.
Segregation of Waste
Waste segregation" means dividing waste into dry and wet. Dry waste includes
wood and related products, metals and glass. Wet waste typically refers to organic
waste usually generated by eating establishments and are heavy due to dampness.
Waste production cannot be controlled in a community. By proper segregation and
disposing of the waste, we can reduce the amount of toxins entering the atmosphere.
It is easy to reduce all types of waste materials by changing your habits and you can
even make some savings during the process. Here are the steps in the segregation of
waste:
1. Determine whether it is solid, liquid or gas waste.
2. Determine if it is hazardous waste. These are the waste that are characterized as
toxic, corrosive, and flammable substances. The hazardous waste is usually stored
underground.
3. Metals and other materials that do not burn easily are place in a drum.
