A very good morning to one and all!

Should smoking be banned in public areas? A question that really isn’t considered by many
countries and their governments. People are well-equipped with the knowledge of how
unhealthy smoking can be, yet they choose to smoke. Life expectancy for smokers is at least 10
years shorter than for nonsmokers. It does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects
the health of all people exposed to the smoke.

Moreover, people who smoke in public portray a bad example. There is a saying that goes
“monkey see monkey do,” Children perceive the actions they see around them as the way things
should be.

If smoking is banned in public areas, it will promote a healthier lifestyle for everyone. It is a
personal choice but also a highly addictive habit. A cigarette a day keeps the doctor in pay!
Therefore I strongly say that smoking should be banned in all public places.
