Igneous rocks are also called primary rocks
Igneous rocks are two types
1.Intruise rocks
2.extruise rocks

Extruise rocks

How is it formed ?
Lava : molten magma : comes from earth’s surface :
cools down : becomes solid
Rock formed in such a way is called extruise igneous
rocks
Have a very fine grained structure ex: Basalt
Intruise rocks
When the molten magma cools deep inside the
earth’s crust intruise rocks are formed
Since they cool down slowly they form large grains
ex: granite
