What is Global Citizenship?

Global citizenship is not simply defined as one thing; it is a large array of various
definitions. The basis of it is global citizenship is being a responsible and active member of the
global community. To me a global citizen is a citizen of the world. Though global citizenship is
being a citizen of the world, it takes more than just caring about global issues. No matter your
definition of global citizenship it all comes down to the same thing, and that is being apart of a
community on a global level.

What s Global Citizen?

A global citizen is someone who feels like they are a part of an emerging world
community and someone who works to contribute to this society’s values and beliefs. Global
citizens see the world as a whole, value diversity and understand global issues . Most of the
society, citizens based on their shared identities form communities, which include economic,
political, religious and social beliefs. A global citizen has a sense of belonging to a world
community. These citizens are outraged by injustice, assume responsibility for their own
actions, are willing to make the world a more sustainable place to live and have an
understanding of how the world works as a whole in regards to politics, economics, social
status, technology and environmental issues.
