FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION TABLE FOR UNGROUPED DATA

A. What’s New?
In statistics, numerical information may be treated as ungrouped or grouped data. In
both cases, tabular presentation is very important. This tabular presentation is called
the frequency distribution table.

B. What is It?
Frequency distribution Table is a systematic way of presenting data using a table.
For ungrouped data, let’s have the example below.

Consider the midyear test scores of 45 students in Mathematics 7.

29 27 28 27 34 29 27 27 28
25 23 35 25 29 33 23 27 33
27 22 40 27 21 29 22 25 29
25 21 20 21 23 25 30 20 28
30 29 28 30 27 27 27 19 30
The table below shows the tabulation of the 45 scores treated as ungrouped data. The
tally for each score is also indicated.

C. Activities
Direction: Construct a suitable frequency table given the following data.

A survey was taken on the municipality of Columbio. In each of 20 homes, people were asked
how many cars were registered to their households. The results were recorded as follows:
1, 2, 1, 0, 3, 4, 0, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 1, 4, 0,2.
