participate. As for the ordinance, I would hate to guess what ordinance they were making reference to
without having Cook county or Chicago provide the site. I believe (b)(6), (b)(7)(C) has been in contact with
Cook county and may have a better idea of what ordinance they are referencing. I can make a call to
Cook county but the personnel I spoke with back when this was being discussed no longer work at Cook
county. If you would like me to contact them I can do that for you.

I hope you have enjoyed your summer. It has been sometime since we last spoke or exchanged emails
and I would like to follow up with you regarding the status of deploying Secure Communities in Cook

with moving forward with deployment without a response in writing from the law enforcement
agencies stating they would like to participate / activate Secure Communities. I believe Cook County PD
and the Sheriff’s Office wanted to participate but the Chicago PD did not. Also referenced in the email
was a city and/or county ordinance that prevented them from participating. If possible, CJIS would like
to obtain a copy of the ordinances for our records. Would it be possible for your office to provide a
copy of the ordinances or the city codes so we may locate those ordinances? However, if there has
