SERIES 36 GEAR REDUCER

Sight glass vent must be kept open. Inspect at
each oil change and clean when necessary.
Inspect internal parts and inside of Gear
Reducer case at each oil change – see
section on inspection of internal parts. Use oil
recommended in “Paharpur Gear Reducer
Lubricants manual”.

Note : It is very essential that different type /

grade / make of oil are never mixed. If it
becomes essential to change the type of oil
and/or supplier, the old oil should be removed
from the gearbox and the gearbox shall be
cleaned thoroughly. The maximum
permissible moisture contain in the gearbox
oil is 0.1% by weight. The oil shall be kept
away from dust and other contaminants.

The approximate oil quantity needed for

various PCTL Series 36 gearboxes (including
oil in oil line) is 78 liters.
The schedule of oil changes at site may be as follows
a. Change first fill of oil after 7 days .
b. Check oil level weekly and check sludge and water contamination monthly. If sludge is
present or there is a condensation of water change the oil immediately.
c. Change oil after 6 months or after 3000 hours of operation whichever is earlier
