As I walked through the huge high school doors to where the recital was being held,
my heart was already pounding with excitement and butterflies. My class was the first called
to stage. The closer I got to the stage the more nervous I was getting. Watching the far more
experienced dancers go I started to think if I was going to do good at all!
Stepping on the the huge clear stage made me remember what my friends said, “just
have fun!” There still telling me as I walk to where I was supposed to stand. When all of a
sudden the song starts to play catching me off guard! I snap out of day dreaming and start
dancing, trying to remember every step, turn, and kick. It was probably one of the funniest
things I've done in a long time but still very difficult.
Everybody in the crowd seemed to have liked it too! Everybody clapping to the beat
and calling our names, I felt on top of the world. That was one of my most special days, that I
will never forget.

Last month, I enjoyed my weekend on a hill with some friends. It is not very far from my home, about
60 kilometres away. We went there by cars. It took about 45 minutes drive. My friends and I started the trip at
06.30. When we got there, the wind was blowing very hard.
We stayed in a villa. Local people said that there was a ghost in it and it liked to disturb the guests. I
tried not to believe it. However, on the second night, when I was going to the toilet, I saw an old lady with long
grey hair standing in front of the toilet door.
She turned her head to me and gave me a strange smile. All my body was frozen and I didn’t know what
happened after that, until one of my friends woke me up about 10 minutes later.
That was the first time I saw a ghost in my life.
The rest of the night was a terrifying experience. It was late at night. So, nobody could close the eyes to

I had never been camping before I met my best friend, Hamzah. I didn’t know that camping
meant sleeping out in nature, in a tent. I guess I didn’t really think about it at all.
We were off to a nearby campground. We drove in and paid for our site. It was beautiful. There
were ducks and a small lake and up on the hill there was a pool and small store if you needed
anything.
At dusk we lit our fire. It was very nice and pleasant. However I had a small allergy problem
with mosquitoes. I hate bugs, and mosquitoes seem to be the worse, due to their stinging and being
irritating. It was awful, but the camp fire was nice. Hamzah told me about her camping stories.
They were really interesting.
After a full night of stories and fire, we settled in out the tent. We slept in our sleeping bags on
the ground. To my surprise, the ground was not wet, and we had a small air mattress under us. Of
course, the mattress wasn’t as comfortable as mine at home but it was no problem.
Then in the middle of the night I heard scuffling just out of our tent. I woke Hamzah and I told
her that there was a bear in our camp. She told me to just go back to sleep. I really didn’t know that

What a Terrible Day!
I’m so glad that today was over. So many things have gone wrong. For some reasons, I did not sleep
a wink last night. I was very tired when Mum called this morning. I fell asleep until Mum called me again. That
snooze made me late.
I did not have time for breakfast. I was starving as I ran to catch the school bus. I just missed it. Dad
had to ride me to school. He was late for teaching at his school and he was furious with me. He scolded me for
being late.
I arrived at school on time. The teacher asked us to hand in our homework. My homework was not
in my bag. I had forgotten to put it in my bag the night before. I usually check my bag in the morning. I did not do
it because I was late. I had to do extra assignment as a punishment.

My Horrible Experience
Let me remind you my experience during an earthquake last week. When the earthquake happened,
I was on my car. I was driving home from vacation to Bali.
Suddenly my car lunched to one side, to the left. I thought I got flat tire. I did not know that it was
an earthquake. I knew it was an earthquake when I saw some telephone electricity poles falling down to the
ground, like matchsticks.
Then I saw a lot of rocks tumbling across the road. I was trapped by the rock. Even I could not
move my car at all. There were rocks everywhere. There was nothing I could do but left the car and walked along
way to my house, in the town.
When I reached my town, I was so surprised that there was almost nothing left. The earthquake made a lot of
damage to my town. Although nothing was left, I thanked Allah that nobody was seriously injured.
