Overview of This stream is suitable for laboratory or field assistants/technicians working in the geotechnical and
specialisation construction material testing industry.
This qualification is delivered in the workplace. These students are currently employed on a full time or

part time basis. Any changes in the employment status must be reported to LTT. Upon completion of
requirements this qualification students may progress in the pathways stated below.

There are 920 nominal hours assigned to this Diploma specialisation. This equates to approximately
2-3 hours of study per day. Completion of the full qualification typically takes 12 – 18 months.
Focused training and assessment will be delivered over 12 3.5-hour sessions at your employers
nominated location. Training duration may differ according to prior qualifications and or units of
competency completed. Credit Transfer (CT) of UoC for consideration to be indicated on the Course
Outline. Approved CT stated on individualised Training Plan.
Duration / Amount
Study, training and assessment is comprised of the following components:
