1. INTRODUCTION
This Method Statement refers to the installation of the Structural Steel Column for Hotel Tower
Crown at 24th Level Penthouse.
To guarantee that this Method Statement and the associated Inspection, Test, and Approval Plan
(ITAP) are implemented effectively by all parties involved, including Subcontractors, the
processes are covered during the task initiation meeting with the respective Subcontractors.
Additionally, non-conformities identified on-site are managed & controlled per MDBI project
procedure.

The subcontractor must prepare and assist in the preparation and implementing
method statements and inspection & test plans. Able to carry out QSE risk
Class 2
assessments and implement the relevant parts of the MDBI management system
with some assistance from MDBI.
The subcontractor who does not have a documented management system and
cannot prepare method statements or carry out QSE risk assessments cannot
Class 3
independently implement relevant parts of the MDBI management system.
Usually, Subcontractors who only supply labor belong to this classification.

3. CLASSIFICATION FOR THE MATERIALS
The main material suppliers used in this works or package are as following:
MDBI's
ACER Steel
4.1. GENERAL
The method presented in this statement will govern the guidelines for the Erection of ATG
Diamond Structural Steel Crowns at Hotel and Office Roof Deck from Delivery, Staging,
Preparation, Lay-out, and Erection.
6|P a ge
4.2.1.3. Secure all necessary documents and permits for unloading and use of
tower cranes.
4.2.1.4. Before delivery on-site, NEW BLOC shall inform MDBI at least 12 hours
earlier to prepare and check the availability of the tower crane.
7|P a ge
4.3. ERECTION
4.3.1. ERECTION OF INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR COLUMN (FR)
4.3.1.3. ERECTION
4.3.1.3.1. Tower Crane will erect FR Columns; proper lifting analysis will be
done to ascertain which tower will be best used for the erection
4.3.1.3.2. Lifting radius will be appropriately considered with the crane
loadings provided by MDBI as reference for lifting
4.3.1.3.3. Leveling plate will be positioned on the RC Pedestal for leveling.
4.3.1.3.4. FR Columns will be lifted using the Tower crane. Proper Tagline and
Tension wire will be fixed on the frame before lifting.
4.3.1.3.5. The frame will be lowered slowly into position and will be aligned
with the centerlines of the pedestals.
4.3.1.3.6. The frame will be guided into position. Adjustments will be made
using the nut located at the bottom and the top of the base plate.
8|P a ge
4.3.1.3.7. Once in position, tension wires will be tightened to position to
secure it in position.
4.3.1.3.8. Check the plumbness of the column and tighten the bolt to
maintain the level of the columns.
4.3.1.3.9. Removal of crane sling with the use of scaffoldings used as access
4.3.1.3.10. Erect four columns at a time before proceeding with the
installation of horizontal braced members.
The Consultant must approve all Repairs and remedial methods presented herein.
5.1. MATERIAL
5.1.1. Verify that material defects or distortion, if any, are corrected with an approved
or suitable method.
5.1.2. Application of localized heat is permitted for straightening members; this must be
done carefully so as not to exceed temperature limitations that would adversely
affect the properties of the steel quenched, and tempered steels should not be
above 1100 degrees Fahrenheit because deterioration of mechanical properties may
result from an undesirable microstructure when cooled to room temperature. Other
steel should not be heated above 1200 degrees Fahrenheit to avoid the possibility
of unwanted transportation products or grain coarsening, or both.

6.2. MATERIAL HANDLING
6.2.1. The delivery note is always enclosed with the list of supplied materials with the
project's name, location, type grade of materials, quantity, and delivery date.
6.2.2. Unloading will be done with cranes. A lifting belt with a suitable SWL and proper
certificate shall be used for unloading the materials to minimize damage. Be sure to
hook belts to components with the right no. of points.
6.2.3. Attached necessary taglines and lifting lines to the lifting components at the
bottom.
6.2.4. Proper stacking and staging will be observed.
7.2. MEDICAL
7.2.1. This must include the basic plan providing On-the-Job First Aid and Instruction for
providing and obtaining emergency medical care.
