Climate change

Climate change is a major global problem with effects felt on local scales. It focuses on

many dimensions ranging from science, politics, economics, society, moral, and ethical aspects.

This menace has led to many adverse consequences of greenhouse gas emissions to increase

temperature (Hill & Martinez-Diaz, 2020). As a result, it is necessary to put in place, efforts to

reduce the extensiveness of climate change. Given this, positive responses aimed at climate

change can be achieved through managing and defining adaptive measures, including reduction

and stabilization in the percentage of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The aspect of climate change is dynamic, changing from time to time with the increase in

industrial and technological advancements. Many details about climate change are not well

understood, and there are ample grounds for continued research to provide a better basis for

understanding climate dynamics. The question of what we should do about climate change is still

open (Naomi, 2004). As a result, research on factors relating to climate change and the creation

of knowledge to address these challenges should progress to facilitate better responses to climate

change.

Greenhouse gases, in particular, carbon dioxide, trap heat in the atmosphere, causing a

rise in surface temperatures. As a result, temperatures in the atmosphere rise resulting in a

significant effect on global warming. According to Rebecca (2020), the global amount of carbon

dioxide in the atmosphere in 2018 was 407.4 parts per million, with a range of uncertainty of

plus or minus 0.1. To put this into perspective, the global average level of carbon dioxide in the

atmosphere was about 280 parts per million in the mid-1700s (Rebecca, 2020). Consequently, the

global surface temperatures have risen exponentially, bringing on higher atmospheric

temperatures resulting in global warming.
