What is the importance of Construction Safety? What makes it different compared to safety in other
working environments?

The primary reason why construction safety is considered important in the first place is because, its
obvious that health and safety is one of the most important things you should consider before accepting
any construction projects. As a professional, you should always keep in mind all aspects of health and
safety have been already considered before you step foot on the construction site. So, in my opinion, to
make things clearer, construction safety prevents hazardous events in a construction site or place. Why
is it different to other safety in other working environments? It is different because when you are
working in a construction site, you are aware that it is dangerous, because one worker is at risk from
falling machineries, or injuries from falling or the collapsing of structures. It is different because it
provides the safety of the workers to those specific risks, that other safety environment could not
provide. Construction safety is made for those risks in the first place.

2.Name the common hazards in excavation? What makes these hazards very similar to the hazards
present in construction sites?

First is the collapses that can trap employees that happens quite often when the soil around the trench
is dry, it would eventually lead to a collapse that nobody asked for. Another one is the exposure to a
hazardous atmosphere which we can all agree on that it is very common, and lastly being affected by
moving machinery, or by falling objects. These hazards are very similar to the hazards present in
construction site First of all, the collapses, collapses do really happen in construction, it can also trap the
workers, structures do collapse if the materials is not appropriate or sometimes, when an unexpected
events occur like earthquake happens. Next is the hazardous atmosphere includes oxygen deficient
environment that could also occur in construction sites. Last is getting struck by falling objects in terms
of excavation and construction, this is the most common, and it could be very hazardous especially
when you are not wearing your PPE.
