LINE AND WHATSAPP

Line

Line is a freeware app for instant communications on electronic devices such


as smartphones, tablet computers, and personal computers. Line users exchange texts, images,
video and audio, and conduct free VoIP conversations and video conferences. The service is
operated by Line Corporation, a Japanese subsidiary of the South Korean internet search
giant Naver Corporation.

Line was originally developed as a mobile application for Android and IOS
smartphones. The service has since expanded to BlackBerry OS (August 2012), Nokia
Asha (Asia and Oceania, March 2013), Windows Phone (July 2013), Firefox OS (February
2014), iOS tablets (October 2014), and as a Chrome Browser Application (via the Chrome Web
Store). At one point, Line was available as a website (non-browser-app), but it has since been
discontinued. The application also exists in versions for laptop and desktop computers using

Whatsapp Mesengger

Is a freeware and cross-platform messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP) service owned
by Facebook. The application allows the sending of text messages and voice calls, as well as
video calls, images and other media, documents, and user location. The application runs from
a mobile device though it is also accessible from desktop computers; the service requires
consumer users to provide a standard cellular mobile number. Originally users could only
communicate with other users individually or in groups of individual users, but in September
2017 WhatsApp announced a forthcoming business platform which will enable companies to
provide customer service to users at scale.

The client was created by WhatsApp Inc., based in Mountain View, California, which
was acquired by Facebook in February 2014 for approximately US$19.3 billion. By February
2018, WhatsApp had a user base of over one and a half billion, making it the most popular
messaging application at the time. WhatsApp has grown in multiple countries,
including Brazil, India, and large parts of Europe, including United Kingdom and France.

In today's many people who have chosen the media application to communicate. such
as line and whatsapp, the two applications have features that support to communicate. both
have the same features as video calls, free calls, voice notes, and much more. besides has
similarities of these two applications also have a difference that is when users want to add
friends, in line we can add friends by using the Id line while Whatsapp can only add friends by
entering the phone number.

Line and whatsapp is the application to communicate. the similarity of both these
applications such as video calls are usually used to communicate by looking at the face of our
friends who are on the other side. then there is a freecall used to communicate as well but the
difference frecall only through the voice can not see the face of our friends who are elsewhere.
other than that this application can be downloaded free for all smartphone users.

Line differences and whatsapp is on how to add friends. in line we can use the Id Line
that we have created, while for whatsapp we must have a number to add friends. besides in line
and whatsapp has group or multichat feature which each have maximum. for line has maximum
member 199 users and no admin. For whatapp only holds 99 fewer members than the line and
has admin to organize the group or multichat. for privacy and security Line has a password or
code if the user does not want his privacy in knowing others. while Whatsapp does not have a
password or code feature to protect privacy.

In conclusion, Line and Whatsapp have difference and similarity. For line we can
chatting, video call, free call, like Whatsapp, we can give password to protect our privacy. In
line we can make a group with 199 members without admin. And for whatsapp we can also
chatting, video call, free call. but in whatsapp we cannot use password in Whatsapp.
