TOPIC : ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING abroad
In recent years, there is a growing trend among students choosing to pursue higher education overseas.
I believe such a preference can have a positive impact on students.
Firstly, studying abroad can cultivate students' ability to live independently and their
characters. Students have to deal with many problems when they study abroad. They have to
learn how to be accustomed to a new environment and how to get along with the teachers and
classmates. During their study, they can acquire some interpersonal skills.

Secondly, studying abroad can provide a good language environment to students and make it
easy to pick up a language. Foreign language is a tool employed to communicate with each
other. It can remove language barrier and make international cooperation much easier.

However, "Every coin has its two sides". Studying abroad also brings about many
disadvantages. Firstly, students will be confronted with so many psychological problems. They
often feel lonely and helpless in a new environment. Furthermore, the tuition is very high,
which is a very heavy financial burden to the average people.

To sum up, the advantages of studying abroad outweigh the disadvantages greatly. We
encourage students study abroad. When they accomplish their curriculum, they can make
more contributions to the construction of our society
Unit 8:
1.Can you introduce a natural heritage in QB province?

I'll talk about Phong Nha- Ke Bans National Park, one of the eight world heritage sites in Viet Nam.

 It is located in central of Quang Binh Province, about 500 km south of Ha Noi.

  Thanks to its complex geological structure with different kinds of stone, Phong Nha - Bang can
be compared to a huge geological museum. Phong Nha- Ke Bang mountair can provide a lot of
valuable information about the Earth's geological developing through various periods. One
geological characteristic to notice here is the system of underground rivers, grottos and caves
in the limestone mountains.
 Phong Nha- Ke Bang is famous for its caves such as Phong Nha, Tien Son and Thien Duong
Caves. Son Doong Cave is considered to be the largest one in the world with 200 metres in
height, 200 metres in width, and at least 8.5 kilometres in length.
 I strongly recommend that you find time to visit Phong Nha- Ke Bang Park. It'd be worthwhile
exploring its caves and grottos, and seeing the diversity of its flora and fauna. If you enjoy
mountain climbing, there are some steep mountains over 1,000 metres high, which can be a
real challenge for adventurous climbers.
2. Have you ever been to Phong Nha National Park?
 Of course I have. My dad took me there 2 years ago as a chance to learn more about rare
and unusual species on a summer vacation.
3. How far is it from Dong Hoi to Phong Nha?
 The distance is roughly 45km and it probably takes 2 hours to drive back and forth.
Unit 9:
1. Which city in VN or in the world would you like to visit?
 I would love to pay a visit to ____. It would be a great chance to fulfill my knowledge
about its culture since I have always been enthusiastic to know more.
 I would love to pay a visit to HCM city, which is considered to be the city that never
sleeps, since loud music from the bars and street lights are what i indulge in.
2. What is Dong Hoi city famous for?
 In my opinion, Dong Hoi has gained a reputation for its cuisine. Such delicacies as banh
beo or banh loc always grab tourists’ attention.
3. Where do you want to live in the future?
 I would love to settle down in HN, which is the capital city of VN. The co-existence of
modern and traditional values is an irresistible attraction to me.
 If I were to choose where to live in Vietnam, I would go for Hue – a city in central Vietnam. I have a bias for
Hue because of its historic sites, for its street food, trees and wide boulevard, for the dessert shop on the
esplanade and for the wonderful people I met there. Hue is much less busy than HCMC or Hanoi, so this
guarantees more space for everyone, no matter when you are driving, bicycling or just walking. You don’t have
to worry so much about traffic, you won’t be pushed back and forth by crowds, and you have no pressure to talk
and smile a lot.
B.TOPICS
Topic 1: Talk about the causes and effects of GW:
 The causes:
-Greenhouse gas emissions from factories and vehicles: By driving cars, using electricity from
industrial stations, we release carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere.
Industries, on the other hand, release various gases into the water and air, which are the major
greenhouse gases.
-The use of chemical fertilizers is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions: Agricultural
activities release huge levels of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which contribute approximately 30
per cent of total greenhouse gas emissions that mainly due to the use of chemical fertilizers and
pesticides
- Deforestation for wood, paper and farming. Forests absorb and capture CO2 from the atmosphere.
This process has been disrupted by the current alarming rate of deforestation which lead to higher
temperatures.
-Burning fossil fuels for energy, daily life,…
 The effects:
-Global warming has terrible impact on people health. Climate change allows for infectious diseases to
spread more easily, contributes to heat-related illnesses and death.
- Upsetting ecological balance threatens food production and people living in coastal areas
-The warming of the Earth leads to the melting ice and rising of sea levels, many places lack fresh water
for production and living. In the future, if ice melting continues, islands, and coastal areas will be
submerged, people will lose their land and homes.
=> Humans must take actions now to protect the Earth- our common house so that it becomes greener
and greener.
Topic 2. What do you prefer after leaving high school, going to university or going to
vocational school?

I prefer to go to university after leaving high school than go to vocational school.  And there are a
variety of reasons why I choose that.
- Firstly, University graduates can get better jobs and earn more money.
I believe that a bachelor's degree or diploma will help us attain a perfect job leading to a promising
career.  For example, one cannot become a doctor or an engineer without going to university because
these jobs require skills that can only be obtained from higher education.
- Secondly, University will give you the opportunities to expand your potential by giving you
more tools for success.
Higher education will provide us with more knowledge and critical thinking skills lead to enlightening
our vision and prepare us to face real-world challenges. Both qualities will benefit them when they
enter the job market.
- Finally, University will give you the opportunities to interact with people that can challenge
your thinking, people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Moreover, studying at university gives them countless opportunities to build strong
relationships, especially with professors or experts at university who are able to help us write a
letter of recommendation to land a good job.
 Topic 3: talk about the advantages and disadvantages
These days and ages, people tend to often think about improving their knowledge for a better life.
To do that, they prefer to study in developed countries where they can get progressive education.
However, everything has its advantages and disadvantages, so studying abroad is not an exception.
From my observation studying overseas is the best way to improve ourselves. As you know, there
are obvious advantages to go abroad.
- Firstly, We have a chance to improve our language. I think nothing is better than learning a
language with native speakers. Because we can practice with the local people what we study at
school, so it is very useful to improve our listening along with speaking skills.
- It also offers chances to discover new cultures, ways of thinking, history, customs, and lifestyles.
- Furthermore, we could be provided a better education, could have opportunities to study the
new technologies and most recent scientific achievements. In addition, we are equipped with
valuable and updated knowledge which may help us find jobs easily after graduating.
- However, studying abroad is often expensive. We have to pay not only for our school fees but
also for our living costs. Therefore, financial burden may become the biggest problem.
Consequently, it distracts our minds from studying to earning money.
- Last but not least, adapting to a new environment is e real challenge for every foreign student.
While changing the weather can affect our health, different cultures and customs may influence our
minds and make us less confident or even a victim of discrimination. Every day may turn into a
struggle for survival in a strange country. If we don't have enough physical and mental strength, we
will fail to adjust ourselves to the new environment. As a result, we could neither study nor gain
beautiful experiences as we have expected.
While studying abroad offers great opportunities for a better future, it also has challenges that we
must try our best to overcome what happened to make our dream come true. Therefore, If I have a
chance I think I would take it to study abroad.
Topic 4: Talk about the activities you think can help to reduce global warming

Now there are solutions that we can alleviate global warming

Firstly, one of the effective ways to reduce global warming is to recycle. Recycling can
reduce garbage by reusing plastic bags, bottles, papers or glass. For instance, when we buy
foods, we can use our own containers instead of plastic bags. Another example is after
drinking the water from the bottle; we can reuse it or use our own bottle. If all these are
reused, human can reduce deforestation and save the environment
Secondly, human should stop open burning such as burning dry leaf or burning garbage. It
will release carbon dioxide and toxic if we burn garbage with plastic. Besides, government
should implement stringent regulations on deforestation because such an activity can trigger
blistering pace of global wraming.
Thirdly, small things such as remembering to turn off electricity in the houses can save fuel used to generate
electricity, which in turn, would reduce thousand tons of carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere. Or planting
trees in the garden, this is helpful because trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and regulate the
climate. Besides, we should invest in energy-efficient devices such as bulbs, LED lights or solar-powered shower
system.

Last but not least, those in authorities are to raise awareness about the devastating impact of
global warming.
campaigns about global warming, its consequences, causes and what steps we can take to
prevent global warming should be organised on a global scale. Social media is a highly-
effective platform to voice concerns about climate change.

To conclude, although global warming is a serious issue, there are steps that governments and
individuals can take to mitigate its severity. The threat of global warming should be placed
high on the agenda and we are to be aware of our responsibility to protece our own planet.
Topic 5: Talk about your ideal city

 Well, shaping future cities and ecosystems means shaping our very own future. That's why I always
dream of a sustainable and worth-living space. First things first, location. I want somewhere with a good
water supply to prevent us from water shortages, so near a lake would be great. Somewhere scenic
obviously with moderate but not extreme seasons. Moreover, I wish my city would advoid congestion
with less space for cars to favor bikes and walking. A car-free city deems a little bit unrealistic but
instead, such smaller self-driving pods, which help me to move through this city seamlessly, effortlessly,
emission free, sound interesting. These types of vehicle, furthermore, foster the pollution reduction and
allow citizens to live a much more active and healthier life. What's more, I would like to live in a city so
smart that feels like it would be built all around me. My future city would be able to adapt to all kind of
things: to our needs, to traffic flow, to the weather. All thanks to the help of not only digitalization but
also eco-friendly energy such as solar panels. Last but not least, in terms of society, besides being
liveable with close-knit community & high-qualified infrastructures for education or healthcare systems,
my ideal city should own a high rate of employment & low percentage of crimes as well to keep the city's
safe and sound.
 3. Talk about your plan after leaving high school?
 I think entering university after graduating from secondary school will be the best choice for me. Higher
education will provide me with more knowledge and critical thinking skills. Moreover, a bachelor’s degree will
help me to find a job more easily. I’m wondering between choosing to be a doctor or a programmer. I want to be
a good doctor, but I'm afraid of blood. As for studying information technology, the tuition fees are too expensive.
Whatever major I choose, when in college, besides studying major, I will learn more English and computer
technology, because it will open up more options to me. After graduating from university, I will learn a lot of work
experience, and become a good doctor or a programmer. And the final objective for my plan is to earn a lot of
money.
 4. The advantage of taking a gap year.
 Currently, gap year is a trend that many young people are pursuing. I suppose taking a gap year has many
advantages. It can helps students have more time to redefine their chosen professions. Because some young
people today are still very confused in choosing a major, they choose a major based on the reputation of the
school. Therefore, by having a job related while gap year, they can know their passion. In addition, taking a gap
year can helps students gain valuable experience such as problem solving, communication skills, etc. All of these
skills can make your CV better.
 However, taking a gap year also has its drawbacks. First, it could be challenging for students. They may have to
work and live independently without parents’ care, and therefore might feel homesick and miss their families. In
addition, teenagers may be a year behind their peers in terms of knowledge and opportunity.
 UNIT 10: HEALTHY LIFE AND LONGEVITY
 Tell about 4 principles of staying healthy.
 Well, I think everyone should keep a healthy lifestyle for good health. Now, I will tell you about 4 principles of
staying healthy. Firstly, you should have a balanced diet. You should drink a lot of water and shouldn’t eat fast
food. Secondly, you shouldn’t smoke, drink beer and wine. Because they have a negative effect on your health.
Thirdly, you should exercise regularly. For example, you can do morning exercises or you can play sports such as:
swimming, playing soccer, playing volleyball,… Because they make you stronger, taller and healthier. Finally, you
should sleep over eight hours a day and go to bed early. Instead of surfing the net, you should read the book
before going to bed.
