Thousands were killed by the raging waters of a tsunami that ravaged eastern Japan after an 8.9 magnitude earthquake - It is
believed to be the most powerful earthquake to have struck the Earth anywhere in the last 100 years. The same powerful earthquake that
unleashed a devastating tsunami appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis.
And as of March 24th 2011, 700 aftershocks have been recorded.

The tsunami that washed away thousands of homes, cars and killed more than 10,000 people in Sendai alone, leaves a
scene so unreal, it looks like real planes and cars are merely toys strewn about in a dirty canal. It is considered to be the most
destructive tsunami to have ever hit Japan, with millions in US dollars’ worth of property destroyed.

common sight to see people with Geiger counters checking a site like Fukushima Daiichi- they're measuring contamination,
which generally refers to actual radioactive particles.

Vehicles belonging to forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy explode Sunday after an air strike by coalition forces, to
protect the citizens by the embattled libyan leader, along a road between Benghazi and Ajdabiyah. His son is reported to have
been killed in the airstrike.

The 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar recently near its borders with China, Thailand and Laos, according to the U.S.
Geological Survey. It was said to be a relatively shallow quake, which can be very destructive. Thank God the death toll has yet
to reach a hundred, compared with Japan’s tens of thousands.

An attempted pirate attack on the Falcon Trader II was disrupted by U.S. Navy forces supporting Operation Enduring Freedom March 25,
2011. The crew aboard the Falcon Trader II, a Philippine-flagged merchant vessel sailing in the Arabian sea, sent a distress signal,
communicating that suspected pirates were trying to board their vessel, which was about 300 miles northeast of Masirah, Oman. Once
military officials were on the scene, one of the Navy helicopters fired warning shots to discourage the pirates from continuing their attack.

bloodshed that started in December after a disputed presidential election, the United Nations refugee agency. This tense
situation in Africa has been buried by news of the Japan quakes and tsunami, airstrikes in Libya and tension in the Middle East.
