It is with great pleasure that I have been asked to write a letter of recommendation for
Donovan Lee Yang En , Unity Secondary School Class of 2021, to assist with his pursuit of a
post-secondary education.  I have known Donavan for about 3 years as his athletics teacher-
coach in Unity Secondary.  Donavan has demonstrated responsibility and a hard work ethic.
His commitment to the team, treatment of others and unselfish acts speak volumes about
the character of this young man.

Over the past years, I have observed Donavan help to guide the juniors in learning the drills
and sprint techniques. Donavan has always represented himself well and treated others, his
teammates and coaches with respect and common courtesy.  He strives on and off the track,
during the regular season and off-season to work hard to improve himself in all areas of his
sports. He was always willing to help his team and never turned away from a challenge.  

As the Vice Captain of Sprinters, he helped to teach relay techniques to the juniors. Donavan
is well known for his geniality and the juniors looked up to him. Despite his injuries, he
continued to train hard even during the pandemic.  As his teacher, Donavan represented the
type of athlete that is a pleasure to have and a key part of any team.

By all accounts, Donavan is a strong student and all-around athlete, but more importantly, a
great person.  Donavan is always willing to help, face challenges head on and do the little
things that will make him very successful not only in tertiary institution but in life.  I know
that Donavan has prepared himself well for this next chapter in his educational life and will
be very successful at your institution.  I strongly and enthusiastically recommend Donavan
as a candidate for admission to your institution. If you need additional information please
