Context
In Assessment 3, you produced a final research project report. In organisations, executives are
pressed for time and face many issues that need to be dealt with. It is common practice that
engineers are often asked to present a summary of their work (including projects) to individual or a
team of senior decision-makers who want to obtain a short summary of what was done, understand
the recommendations, and have an opportunity to ask questions. In this assessment, you will gain
experience in developing and delivering a presentation of your research project, answer questions,
and obtain feedback.

Assessment Task
Completion of a presentation of a summary of the final research project (7 minutes) to include:
introduction; the title of the research topic; brief description of the research done; research
questions addressed; methodology; summary of findings and recommendations. The presentation
will be delivered by the students in class.

Please refer to the Task Instructions for details on how to complete this task.
Instructions

1. From your final research project report, extract and summarise relevant information for your
presentation. Put your presentation together to contain the following information:
• Introduction and the title of the research topic: 1 slide
• Brief description of the research done: 2 to 3 slides
• Research questions addressed and methodology: 1 slide
• Summary of findings and recommendations: 2 slides
2. Practise your presentation and ensure that the presentation can be done in 7 minutes.

Referencing
It is essential that you use appropriate APA style for citing and referencing research. Please see more
information on referencing here: https://library.torrens.edu.au/academicskills/apa/tool
