Artifact #2 EDU 202 Lesson Plan

Purpose:

 The purpose of this lesson is to teach fellow classmates about the importance of

classroom management using the Lee Canton Assertive Discipline plan. The idea is after

the PowerPoint, watching the visual aids, and explain what assertive discipline is, my

fellow classmates will see the importance of having a controlled and well-behaved

classroom.

A: Two observable objectivists:

I. Students will be able to identify teacher response styles

II. Students will be able to implement a assertive discipline plan

B. List of auditory visual kinetic learning styles:

I. PowerPoint: A helpful tool used to present information; for example, helping ensure

students follow along.

II. Videos: Short video is played at the beginning of the PowerPoint, which will help

students understand the big picture of what Lee Cantor assertive plan is and the key

points of information.

2. Materials/Equipment

● Video
● PowerPoint

● Pop Quiz is handed out near the end to see if students were paying attention, and, to focus

attention on key points of information.

3. Procedures

1. First, I will introduce myself and the topic of my presentation

2. Secondly, I will open my PowerPoint presentation and play the video in the beginning.

The video is an aid to help me present Lee Canter’s assertive discipline plan.

3. Next; I will review what we watched in the video. And Possibility answer any short

questions.

4. I will go into detail what Lee Canter’s main points are in his assertive discipline plan.

5. I will ask students what they believe is their teaching style.

6. Next, I will continue will the presentation and show them why having proper classroom

management is needed.

7. When I get to the implementation slide, I will ask students what some rules are they will

instill in their classroom. What consequences they would deem appropriate, and how they

would reward good behavior.

8. Next, pop quiz! I will handout a quiz to see if students were paying attention.

9. Lastly, I will close my presentation, thank the class for listening, and have an open forum

to questions.

4. Closure:

● I will be passing out a short handout quiz; that will test if the students can recognize the

key information about Lee Canter’s assertive discipline plan.

5. Assessment
● During my assessment of my presentation, I am confident that my students will know

who Lee Cantors is, what his assertive discipline plan is, and how to implement it in their

future classrooms.

1) Will the students be able to identify different teacher response styles?

2) Will the students be able to identify which teaching response style they are?

3) Will the students be able to recognize the main focus of what Lee Cantor is trying to get

across?

4) Will the students be able to apply what they learned?

5) Will the students be able to explain what they learned about; how to implement assertive

discipline, how to follow through with rules and consequences, and what rules will they

implement?
