QA/QC Inspector QUESTIONAIRE

1. Introduction about yourself, work experience.

Ans: I'm Niño Celso Astillero, Filipino, 36 years old, Married


Graduated Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with 12 years experience in the field of Civil
Engineering, 7 years in Philippines and 5 years in KSA.

I experience working as a Civil Site Engineer, Project Engineer and a Cost Engineer in the
Philippines.

This is my 3rd company to work here in KSA.

1st Company in KSA I'm working as a QS Civil Engineer in a Project Hospital


Rehabilitation/Renovation Assessment and Construction Supervision - Rabigh General Hospital
for 2 years.

2nd Company in KSA I'm working as a QC Civil Engineer in 2 Projects:


1st Year in a Project "Additional RSAF Weapon Facilities (ARWF) Prince Sultan Air Base
(PSAB)- Al Kharj.
2nd Year in a Project "Riyadh Metro Project Park & Ride Station 1H2" - Riyadh.

3rd Company in KSA I'm currently working now as a QC Civil Engineer.


In my 1st year in Nesma I was assigned in Jazan Area "SWCC Project", and in Riyadh
Area "KKAP Project"

2. Responsibilities of QC Inspectors.

Ans: Responsibilities of QC inspectors shall be based on Schedule "Q" and approved Project Quality
Plan (PQP).

Following responsibilities of QC Civil Inspector:

> Directly responsible to the Site QC Supervisor


> Implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), applicable SATIP, SAIC and Client's Project
Specifications
> Authority to recommend to the Site QC Supervisor to stop any aspect of the
work that is not conforming to specification
> Monitor the work progress and conduct preliminary inspections of
completed work prior to requesting the attendance of Saudi Aramco
> Report directly in cases of non-conformance to QC
Manager > Quality control of purchasing including the review of
purchased orders to ensure compliance to the specification
> To inspect incoming materials (relative to
discipline) to ensure material is within specification and complete with all relevant
documentation > Inspect of applicable
check points of SATIP, completed as per specification and report to Site QC Supervisor for
verification > Maintain quality
records > QC Civil
inspector shall not be involved directly with site production
3. Material receiving Inspection.

Ans: Material receiving inspection shall be as per applicable Saudi Aramco Standards (SAEP, SAES,
SAMSS,SATIP & SAIC)

4. Level of Inspection.

Ans. Level of inspection as described in SAEP-1151, Section 9

Level 0 - Documentation requirements on as specified in SA-175 Form. No vendor inspection


required (Non-inspectable)

Level 1 - Only final inspection including release for shipment is required prior to shipping
(Inspectable)

Level 2 - Includes pre-inspection meetings, surveillance visits, all witness and hold points, final
inspection and release for shipment (Inspectable)

Level 3 - Includes pre-inspection meetings, surveillance visits, all witness and hold points, final
inspection and release for shipment. Inspection shall be regular basis (daily, weekly &
bi-weekly) (Inspectable)

Level 4 - Resident inspector continually monitor the work (Inspectable)

Ans. Before Inspection takes place, construction department should submit Request For Inspection
(RFI) to the QA/QC Department.

9. Difference between Inspectable and non-inspectable materials?

Ans. Inspectable Materials have minimum inspection level as per SAEP-1151 while Non-Inspectable
Materials don't have inspection level.
