Improper management of Environmental aspects at Rig site as
:follows
A Significant quantity of spilled diesel at diesel storage area resulted •
.from poor refueling process

Mud chemicals i.e. bentonite, barite, calcium chloride, soda, and •

sodium chloride are improperly managed and stored in non-environmentally-
friendly manner at rig site i.e. no containment, no segregation, no labeling, no
MSDS, improper handling and dispose-of damaged/ opened Packages and no
.Caution signs
Lack of waste management plan at Rig site •

Continues leaking of water-based drilling mud due Poor condition and •

erosion of water-based drilling mud pit basin containment (the soil
‫(؛‬embankment around the bit perimeter
A Significant quantity of spilled cement at Schlumberger pumping •
.cementing unit

A moderate quantity of lubricant Oil drums at rig site are improperly •

.stored with no secondary containment, no spill kit and no labeling

Poor management of hazardous generated wastes i.e. oil filters, oily •

.rags, exhausted oil and damaged chemical damaged/ opened Packages

Improper management of sewage Pits in terms of; inappropriate •

.location and Health & safety precautionary measures

NWD shall ensure no diesel spillage during refueling process. Additionally,
reinforce the implementation of precautionary measures to prevent any solid
contamination in case of spillage i.e. secondary containment, spill kit, plastic
.sheets barriers…etc
MOG shall reinforce precautionary measures to manage Mud chemicals in
environmentally-friendly manner at the rig site i.e. proper containment, proper
segregation, labeling, MSDS, proper handling and dispose-of damaged/
.opened Packages, Caution signs…etc

MOG and NWD shall develop a waste management plan, and ensure its
.proper implementation
MOG shall fix the water-based drilling mud pit basin containment to prevent
.any leak form the pit
MOG shall give clear instructions to it is sub-contractor Schlumberger to
.prohibit any cement spillage at the rig site
NWD shall properly store lubricant Oil drums in a safety and
environmentally-friendly manner and enforce precautionary measures i.e.
.Secondary containment, spill kit, labeling…etc
NWD shall develop and implement waste management pan to ensure the
.proper management of hazardous generated wastes
MOG shall ensure the implementation of all relevant precautionary measures
for sewage Pits i.e. Hard barricades, Precaution signs, Proper distance away
.from mini-camp & main camp in terms of health precaution
