Design procedure with top edge stiffener :

All edges of the tank can be considered supported if a top edge
stiffener of sufficient size is added.For this type of beam ( supported
at top and bottom, and carrying a varying load that icreases uniformly
to one end ).

Resultant reaction at top and bottom are R1 and R2 and they are as
follows :

R1 = pam/6

R2 = pam/3

where, m shall taken as unit width

Hence, R1 = 1.633 N/mm


R2 = 3.266 N/mm

Minimum top stiffener size :

As the design is not safe with 6 thk plate and edge stiffener , we
shall revise the design adding vertical stiffener.
