an employee of the organization, Mr.
Rob ert L. Jeff rey Jr., had embezzled more than
$1 ,000 from the organization. Mr. Jeffrey
was hire d to man age properties belonging to Nort
hwest Neighborhood Environmental
Org aniz atio n (NN EO) and was given access to
several bank accounts from NNEO. Mr.
Jeffr ey mad e num erou s unauthorized bank trans
actions over the course of several
mon ths. The se transactions consisted of numerou
s unauthorized cash withdraws totaling
at leas t $50, 000, unauthorized debit card purchase
s, and unauthorized checks. A search
warr ant was cond ucte d at Mr. Jeffrey's residence
on June 28 th, 2021 in relation to this
offe nse and purs uant to that search warrant a depo
sit ticket from HomeTrust Bank was
foun d on the prop erty. The deposit ticket indicated
that a checking deposit for $8,843.79
was deposited at the branch location ata ll. Will
iamson Rd. NW Roanoke VA 24012.
The depo sit occurred on March 9th, 2021 at 1545
hours. The deposit occurred during a
time peri od in whic h Mr. Jeffrey was still actively
employed by NNEO and Mr. Jeffrey
still had access to their bank accounts. The trans
action amount is consistent with other
unau thor ized transactions and expenditures that
Mr. Jeffrey was making during the time
funds wer e bein g embezzled. A search warrant
is requested for this banking account to
further the investigation into the location of wher
e unknown embezzled funds were
deposited into during the time period this offense
was occurring.
