Lesson plan in Science Grade IV

I. Objective: At the end of the lesson, pupils must be able to create a

heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures.

A. Learning stage

a. Exploration (activity)
Direction: The teacher will bring a Lemon juice and a Dingdong
mixed snacks and let the pupils list the ingredients of it in 3 minutes
and then they will choose a two representative each to present their
ideas in front.

b. Firming up (Analysis)
Direction: After the sharing, the teacher will ask the students
about the activity:
1. Which product ingredients is the easiest to identify?
2. How did you identify the ingredients for each item?
 c. Deepening (abstraction)

1. The teacher will explain about the Homogeneous and

Heterogeneous mixture.
a.) What is Homogeneous mixture?
b.) What is Heterogeneous mixture?
2. The teacher will demonstrate the Heterogeneous and
Homogeneous mixture.
3. The teacher will summarize it before before ending the
discussion using Socratic method.

d. Transforming (application)

Direction: The teacher will group the class into four.. Each group
will be given 4 ingredients namely; Rice grains, Vitsen, Oil, Water.
They will be given three minutes to create their own Homogeneous
and Heterogeneous mixture.

V. Assessment

Directions: Identify homogeneous mixture or heterogeneous mixture.

____2. Rice grains and corn grits
____3. Instant coffee and creamer.
____4. White sugar and Iodized salt.
____5. Corn starch and creamer.
____6. Paper Clips and staple wire.
____7. Powdered detergent and rock salt.
____8. Iodized salt and vitsen.
____9. Flour and body powder .
____10. Salt and pepper.

VI. Assignment

Direction: List down atleast 5 Homogeneous mixture and 5

Heterogeneous mixture.
