consider relevant (approximately 150 to 200 words):
Adam Trading company I-9 Industrial Area Islamabad, Pakistan. A company consist of 40 employees and working in a day shift only. Company is
operational for 10 hours in a day which open at 08:30 am and closed at 06:30 pm and break time is 01:00 pm to 02:00 pm, Friday is weekly off
day for all employees.
Adam Trading Company is an intermediate size trading company which consist of Main Office, a warehouse and a display store. The business
consists of construction machinery and industrial equipment for sales and rent along with their related spare parts and also provides the
maintenance services for equipments and machines which are sold to the customers and companies.
The machines and equipment includes industrial elevators, compaction equipment, passenger material hoist, cradles, power generator, Motors,
power generator, cement mixtures and machines spare parts.
The risk assessment I am covering in this report of different activities of warehouse, like loading and unloading of machinery, workshop works, hot
works, rest area, slips and trips work at height, work in hot weather, health welfare and work environment. The operation manager and admin
manager both are responsible for health and safety at work and both managers are reporting to Finance and Managing directors.

First of all I took help from Nebosh IGC Unit 1 & 2 risk assessment elements and I also visited HSE website

informative source for guidance. After looking from this source of information, I have formally physically visited warehouse and walking all around
the area of warehouse there was nothing to cause harm, then I met with workers talking to them to learn from their knowledge and experience
and concerns about health and safety issues. There is no compliance of health and safety, no training was provided by employer, working under
steel roof in a hot weather and in high temperature, no fans & ac were available even not in rest area, welfare facility also not tolerate able and
young forklifts driver was not well trained in the result near misses, and accident occurred and management is not too serious on this matter
although workers frequently complaint to supervisor and operation managers to provide safe system of work in the warehouse as it is the
employees legal rights. After discussion with workers, I then also met with operation manager and admin manager in a head office who both are
responsible for health and safety and reporting to Managing Director. I have observed at the accident book to study what had previously resulted
in accidents and near misses.
When evaluating the control measures, I also referred the HSE’s approved code of practice when looking for control measure as manual handling

The three actions which I am prioritizing are as follow:

Moral:
The Adam trading company has moral duty and responsibility to provide safe and healthy work environments for its employees. Society
expects that a worker go to work in a safe place and return home safe and healthy. If work area will be safe and secure for workers, the
workers will love to come at work and work growth will be improved. If any incident happened with any workers at workplace due to work
stress or load which result in injury or health the worker moral will be discourage and confident will be lose. When he backs home with injury
his family and friends will also suffer.
Financial:
The worker ill health and injury will cost money to the employer (Al-Wisam), some of these losses can be insured and some may cannot and
when an accident occurred, company has to face both direct and indirect cost. Direct cost including employer first aid, worker sick pay and
damage of any equipment or property and also loss of company performance. While indirect cost it may spoils company image and
reputation; Loss of good will of customers in the market.
Insured cost including compensation paid to workers and damaged of warehouse structure and heavy equipment and uninsured cost is the
time of accident investigation, hiring and training of new employees.
Legal:
As per international labour organization (ILO) has set off convention C155 and recommendation R164 which is apply to work place good
health and safety standard. It is legal duty of every employer to adopt and implement the law to take care of their workers’ health and safety
after their own. But the mostly countries have their own law of health and safety standard, which is exceeded or meet the minimum standard.
It is Adam trading company responsibility that, the warehouse is under their control and without any risk to health. They also have to ensure
that warehouse atmosphere is suitable for work when temperature is increased in summer and make sure of health and welfare facility
including clean water to drink, Installation of air-conditioning, good ventilation system is available. It is employer responsibility to give clear

2. Manual handling of equipment can cause work related musculoskeletal disorder (low back disorder) and handling heavy
machinery may lead to leg & foot fracture if unbalance and fall. The severity is high due to heavy machinery that required forklift
trucks.
3. Due to Slip and trips in display store staff member, including higher management and visitors can be harm by sprain injury, cut
injury and other musculoskeletal injuries due to congested path and oily surface. Severity of this hazard is high as it is traced in
the main office entrance.
1. It is an employer duty to provide safe work place, when cooling system local exhaust system will be installed the ill health ratio
will be minimise and worker will be more encourage to work in warehouse and performance will be increase, the workshop
workers will also feel safe during work. I have given the timescale 3 months to be installed and discussed with admin & finance
director as business is not good going smooth due to since covid-19 shadowed. However he makes assure that, it will be
completed within 3 months of time.
2. To avoid manual handling the employer should have to arrange forklifts truck, pallet truck for warehouse workers to reduce the
risk associated with this job and to prevent the injuries like, work related upper limp disorder, leg fracture. I have given the time
scale for this control 2 months and also having conversation with admin & finance director to make the possible arrangement
within the given time scale and he agree on number of forklift and 1 number of pallet truck and further will be arrange as soon as
business will be smooth.
3. To control the slip and trip in display store higher management ,employees and visitors may get rid of the risk which is involve to
sprain injury, cut injury and other musculoskeletal injuries due to congested path and oily surface. I have set time scale for two
month for this control and also discussed with marketing Manager and Admin & Finance Director, both are agreed and
segregation will be done rapidly.
You must now give a review date for your risk assessment and say why you have chosen this date (10 to 50 words).
As per company policy, risk assessment must be reviewed once in a year, therefore I am advising the date 28 October 2020.
You must now indicate how the risk assessment findings will be communicated (including who needs to know the information) (100 to 150
words).
Firstly, I will arrange a meeting with Admin & Finance Director and managing director (who is company manager) for the risk assessment
actions and I will discuss with them about my significant judgement of my report effectiveness of existing control measures and further control
measures that I recommended. There are two useful way in Adam trading company to communicate and deliver information one is internet
e.g. Email and second is intranet messages which is internal source of information sharing. I will also share my findings with operation
manager who is looking warehouse works and managing inventory. I will also share with my finding with Marketing manager.
You must now indicate how you will follow-up on the risk assessment to check that the actions have been carried out (100 to 150 words).
Well I will take track with all the responsible persons (operation manager and admin manager) for the action has been completed either it will
take more time for the completion. I will arrange a meeting of every week with responsible and will take follow ups if I found any delay or
dispassionate in any action then I will arrange a meeting with Managing Director of Adam trading company through Admin & Finance Director
to take further action for the completion of the actions within in the time scale of that was already decided.
