91. Learning a foreign language will help me to transcend from the world. I am
inhabiting to the world I would like to inhabit; because it will not only make me multi-
linguistic, but multi-cultural too. The desire to learn a foreign language becomes a
necessity when one wants to broaden his/her perspectives about the culture, literature,
arts, and music, which is not one's own native. The psychological politics behind
learning a foreign language renders one to see the macrocosmic view of the given
society. What I mean to say, is that the history books tell us about the historical aspects
of the foreign country but by the virtue of language it would enable me to
communicate with the individuals personally; and sometimes will help me to bring
forth my criticism regarding the odd-evens of that country. Also, if we consider the
global standards, a foreign language, it would provide me to raise my arguments
regarding the global issues such as poverty, global warming, nuclear hazards etc.
Moreover, it would give me an additional hand over others if I would apply for any job
because I may not only work an interpreter but also as a translator, so that I would be
able to help my own fellow-men to understand their literature best. Again, a foreign
language would strengthen the relationship between our country and others because it
would help me to become a global citizen and a part of world-civilization.
