Project Overview

Objective & Background

Based on the client’s requirements, in this study, Sagacious IP was required to conduct
prior art search against the shared Chair's designs shown below:

Specifically, client is interested in lumber support and nameplate for the chairs.

Design of Lumber Support:

It is disposed on the front surface of the seat back, having a generally quadrangular
shape (rounded in the four corners), and protruded in the center portion in the up and
down direction; OR

It is disposed on the back surface of the seat back, having a generally quadrangular
shape (rounded in the four corners, having the horizontally striped pattern), and
recessed in the center portion in the up and down direction.

The lumber support is fixed to the seat back frame by a strip-shaped member.

Design of nameplate:
It is disposed in the lower portion of the seat back frame, and having a shape such that
the name card or the like can be attached to (put in) the recess located in the upper
portion of the generally quadrangular nameplate.
