To you fathers - all who are father figures to children

From those blessed with making women make children
To those God set apart as carers of even others' children

Your contributions to the lives of children

Diverse contributions for diverse children
Young and old we appreciate as children

Parties for your merriment we may not organise

For reasons we know you yourselves recognise
Parties are worth less than hearts alone realise

Paternity is somehow where it all begins

Answer to the call of procreation and it begins
Paternal commitment to breeding is how it begins

Who doesn't know paternity isn't all there is in fatherhood?

Because even many who never sired a cell are in fatherhood
Who by virtuous merit are greater than genitors in fatherhood

In you we cherish more than just paternal bonds

We cherish positive influences beyond genetic bonding
In your stewardship families and the society are bonded

Credit is shared by all that have cared to care

Men and even women of goodwill who care
Credit is yours for being the keepers that care

May your day be unreservedly sanctified
