No: Type of Special Cement / Application

1 OIL WELLCEMENT ( IS : 8299-1986)

Application

High Pressure and temperature conditions.

Sealing water and gas pocket

Setting casing during the drillinng and repairinng of oil wells.

2 Hydrophobic portland cement (IS: 269)

Application

Facilitate storage for longer period even in textremely wet

conditions.

can be used in contruction during peak monsoon and deep

water.

3 Rapid Hardening Portland cement ( IS: 8041-1990)

Application

Defense purpose

consruction of aerodromes
Places requiring quick setting of cement

4 low Heat Portland Cement ( IS :12600-1989)

Application

Consruction of Dams and Bridges.

mass Concreting work

5 Super Sulphated Cement (IS : 6909-1990)

Application
acid resistant
Linesed Oil Resistant
See water Resistance
6 Sulphate resistant Cement ( IS: 12330-1988)
Application
resistant to sulphate atck from ground as well as sea water and
atmosphere SO3 containg environment.

7 Railways Sleeper Grade Cement ( TRS-T40)

Application

Production of Railway Sleepers

Extra Efforts and Facility
1. insoulble residue in the cement to be redued
from 1.9 % to < 0.7 % by eliminating other
additives than clinker andgypsum while grinding
cement.
2. gypsum containg low IR % value to be used
synthetic gypsum will do the job.

3. The testing facilities with respect to oil well

cement to be essentially provided at the plant.
Separate Silo is reqired for storing Oil well
cement.

1. Fineness of cment to be incresed to > 350

M2/Kg compared to 270 m2/kg and 290 M 2/kg
for OPC 43/ 53 grade
2. Float test on H2O to bedeermined which > 6.5
% for meeting requirement.

3. Water reppellent like Oliec acid , lauric acid

steric acid , pentachloro phenol to be added
while grinding.

1.chemical characterstics of cement Opc-43/53

grade being produced presently conforms to
rapid hardining cement IS: 8041-1990
2. physical characterstics like fineness to be
improved from 270 to 325 m2/Kg

1. The fineness to be increased to > 320 m 2/Kg in

place value in cement at 270-290 m 2/Kg

2. heat of Hydration is to be determined and

should be less than 272 at 7 days and <314 at 28
days

1. Contains granulated blast furnace slag and

hence to be supplied plant but costly. Slg conent
> 70 %

2. Could e manufactured with lower output from

the milss ( 40 % reduction of mill output)
Suitable Correction in Raw Mix is Required to
bring the C3A level below 5.0 %

The OPC-43/53 grde Cement will meet the

requirement except fineness.

Fineness of IR-T40 Sleeper grade Cement is to be

maintained at > 370 m2/Kg Blaines in Cement
Grinding mill.

Grinding mill output may come down Drastically.
