impact the spread of the Cov-
id-19 infection in the country,
the health ministry has said.
Based on Google com-
munity mobility data, the
ministry recently presented
a comparison of community
mobility between May 20 and
July 10, which showed that the
overall movement of people
has become manifold in these
two months.
“Most of the districts have
reached pre-Covid level mobili-
ty. Some have registered more

and murder a 30-year-old
man from Vasco at a secluded
spot in Bogmalo was arrested
on Saturday, while two pistols
along with a magazine and
cartridges have also been re-
covered from the two accused
who were earlier arrested in
the wee hours of Friday.
On a day when police made

of Amar Naik on Thursday

the authorities in the commer-
cial capital. With an orphan-
age at Pajifond reporting as
many as eight Covid positive
cases in the last three days,

Ruchika Katyal, IAS has de-
clared the entire orphanage
premises as a micro-contain-
ment zone.

August and December this year, at a revised price of Rs 205
and Rs 215 per dose, respectively, o�cial sources said. They

The aggrieved forest

some forest guards said a list
initially prepared had placed

Six RFOs transferred
PANAJI: Six Range Forest O�cers (RFOs) have been trans-
ferred in what is claimed to be “routine transfers” across the
State.
Among those transferred included Narayan Prabhudesai,
who had been accused in clashes with locals and had even
�red in the air to disperse the locals at Bandirwada-Savor-
dem in Sattari Taluka in May.
The transfer order was issued on July 13, but an o�cial in
the forest department insisted this was a routine order and
had no connection with the clashes between locals and a
forest team in Sattari.
“If that was the reason, then only a single o�cer would
have been transferred,” said an o�cial.
The o�cial said Prabhudesai would be now be posted as
Range Forest o�cer at Campal under Deputy Conservator of
Forest Wildlife and Eco-tourism Panaji.
Other RFOs who have been transferred beside Prabhude-
sai are Deepak Tandel to Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, Shefali
Naik to the Margao division and John Fernandes to Pernem
division, while Sidhesh Gaude and Geerish Bailudkar have

worth Rs 5.76 lakh from a ve-
hicle at the Patradevi check
post in the wee hours of
Saturday. This is the third
major seizure during the
pandemic.
The stock seized by Excise
Inspector Amol Harwalkar
and his team consisted of
38,400 bottles (180 ml) of
whiskey.
According to reports, the
liquor was illegally being
transported from Goa to Panv-
el and vehicle was intercepted
at the Patradevi check post at
4.30 am.
The truck driver claimed
in his documents that he was
carrying fertilisers, but the
inspector on duty had doubts
and during inspection, the
liquor worth Rs 5.76 lakh was
found in the vehicle.
The excise team involved
in seizing the liquor included

jkiya Nirman Nigam (UPRNN)

GSL and UPRNN on February
14, 2019 under the “PRASAD

The ferry, designed and
constructed for promoting

ga between Raj Ghat/Ravidas
Ghat and Assi Ghat at Varana-
si, Uttar Pradesh, stated GSL
in a press note.
The River Cruise Passenger Ferry built by Goa Shipyard
Limited (GSL) for the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam.
The ferry boat underwent
a long and arduous voyage of
about 5,000 kms from Goa to
Varanasi transiting though
the Indian Coastal waters
and Inland waterways before
entering river Ganges this
year.
The operation of this ferry
will be a prominent attrac-
tion for tourists at Varanasi
providing them with scenic
and mesmerising views of
the holy Ghats and temples.
The passenger ferry has
been designed and built tak-
ing into consideration the
unique role it has to play in
promoting tourism across the
Ganga River.
The ferry has been indige-
nously designed at GSL incor-
porating all design features
and statutory requirements in
line with Classi�cation Rules
of Indian Register of Shipping
(IRS).
It has been customised to
carry 80 passengers in ergo-
nomically designed cabin
spaces located in Lower Deck
and Upper Deck with an all-
round view.
It has been specially de-
signed with low dra�s to ca-
ter for the depth constraints
in the river. While the hull is
built from steel, the compos-
ite superstr ucture provides
weight advantage and better
corrosion resistance charac-
teristics.

ed customers from the prem-
ises, believing vaccination poses a
health risk to others.
In the United States, a teacher
warned her students not to hug their
vaccinated parents for the same
reason.
We’ve seen this in Australia, in
the northern New South Wales town
of Mullumbimby and on the Gold
Coast in Queensland. We’ve also
seen this internationally.
But Covid vaccines don’t contain
any live virus to shed. Here’s the sci-
ence to put the myth of viral shed-
ding a�er the Covid vaccine to bed.

next day? If so, you may have
wondered whether your smartphone was
listening to you.
But is it really? Well, it’s no coincidence
the item you’d been interested in was the
same one you were targeted with.
But that doesn’t mean your device is
actually listening to your conversations it
doesn’t need to. There’s a good chance
you’re already giving it all the information
it needs.
Can phones hear?
Most of us regularly disclose our infor-
mation to a wide range of websites and
apps. We do this when we grant them
certain permissions, or allow cookies to
track our online activities.
So-called �rst-party cookies allow
websites to remember certain details
about our interaction with their site. For
instance, login cookies let you save your
login details so you don’t have to re-enter
sneeze. During the pandemic, that’s
why we socially distance, wear
masks and stay at home if we’re
sick. We can only infect someone if
the virus is live.
Some vaccines for other diseases
contain live viruses that have been
weakened (or attenuated). Exam-
ples are vaccines against measles,
rubella, mumps and herpes zoster
(shingles).
These train your body to mount an
immune response with a version of
the virus that isn’t so dangerous.
For example, with the very e�ec-
tive vaccine against herpes zoster
(shingles), there is a very small risk
the weakened virus can cause infec-
tion. However, this happened in less
than 1% out of more than 20,000
people vaccinated over ten years.

nise SARS-CoV-2 and to mount
a protective immune response

disease or give you a positive Covid
test. Again, they don’t contain live
virus. They contain fragments of
spike protein or the instructions on
how to make it.
Even if you could shed spike pro-
tein a�er vaccination, that wouldn’t
be enough to cause an infection.
For that, you need the entire virus,
which the vaccines don’t contain.
And the mRNA in the P�zer and

be enough to cause an infection. It

vaccine had less virus cultured from
their nose than people who had not
been vaccinated.
So there’s no chance, then? Zero.
There’s no chance of viral shedding
as a result of your Covid vaccine. If
you do need to go to the shops in
an outbreak area, follow the health
advice to wear a mask and socially
distance. If you’re vaccinated, you’re
likely to pose less risk to others than
if you’re unvaccinated. So business-

new study has examined vaccine acceptance and
hesitancy rates in ten low and middle-income coun-
tries from Asia, Africa, and South America.
The research published in Nature Medicine reveals
the willingness to get a Covid vaccine was consider-
ably higher in developing countries (80 per cent of respond-
ents) than in the United States (65 per cent) and Russia (30
per cent).
The study provides one of the �rst insights into vaccine ac-
ceptance and hesitancy in a broad selection of low- and-mid-
dle income countries (LMIC), covering over 20,000 survey
respondents and bringing together researchers from over 30
institutions including the International Growth Centre (IGC),
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), WZB Berlin Social Science
Center, the Yale Institute for Global Health, the Yale Research
Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE), and HSE University
(Moscow, Russia).

given for vaccine acceptance among LMIC respondents (91 per
cent), and concern about side e�ects (44 per cent) was the
most common reason for vaccine hesitancy. Health workers
were considered the most trusted sources of information
about Covid vaccines.

may vary with time and with the information that people have
available to them. While the evidence on the safety and e�ca-
cy of available Covid vaccines has become clearer in the last
six months, severe, but rare, side e�ects may have under-
mined public con�dence.

While global studies peg the es-
timated prevalence of the condition
at between �ve to 15 percent among
women, most are unaware of the
symptoms of the disease until it is di-
agnosed in course of a routine check-
up or an alternate health diagnosis,
according to Dr Emanuel Gracias, Ob-
stetrician and Gynaecologist, Gracias
Maternity Hospital in Margao.
“Lifestyle habits such as poor
eating habits, lack of physical activity,
among other allied reasons have led
to an increase in instances of poly-
cystic ovaries. The good news is that
lifestyle changes can help women to
e�ectively manage the condition,”
Gracias said.
“Some of the eggs develop into
cysts, which are little sacs �lled with
liquid. Instead of being released
during ovulation, these cysts build up
in the ovaries and at times even get
enlarged,” Dr Gracias described.
Some of the common, but key
symptoms of the ailment are irregular,
delayed periods and reduction in
periods. In addition, male pattern of

have the condition. Infertility is one

of vegetables and fruits, being hy-
drated and being mindful about one’s
health and wellness can go a long
way in the recovery process. In terms
of nutrition, we recommend dietary
changes and put the patient on a
healthy meal plan which includes
meals eaten at �xed time intervals.
Additionally, we encourage patients
to adopt an exercise routine which in-
cludes cardio, stretches and activities
like walking and cycling,” he said.

Exteriors
Well to start with, the Bolero Neo
does look like the faceli�ed TUV3OO
but Mahindra has made loads of
changes to it and integrated it into
the trademark Bolero family. The body
now sits 20 mm lower on the chassis
and that does reduce the earlier bulky
looks that the TUV had. Upfront you
get the trademark Mahindra family
