Day 1 : Total number of glasses of coconut water

= body weight in kg ÷ 10 = __

Total number of glasses of citrus fruit juice

= body weight in kg ÷ 10 = __

Day 2 : Total number of glasses of coconut water

= body weight in kg ÷ 20 = __

Total number of glasses of citrus fruit juice

= body weight in kg ÷ 20 = __

Total weight of cucumber & tomatoes

= body weight in kg X 5 = ___ gm

Emergency Management

(1) Breathing Management (Click Here for Video)

(a) Give the following concoction 3 to 4 times per day


Take a small piece(Thumbnail size) of ginger, 4 Tulasi /Basil leaves, 3 black
peppers and 2 cloves. Crush them and boil in 300ml water until it becomes
150 ml. Strain it and consume while it is warm.

(b) Hand Held Fan or Table Fan or Air Cooler

If SpO2 ≤ 88 % , if you hold the fan like this and sit or stand in this posture
by leaning a little forward and then holding the fan six inches away from
your nose, you will get the same comfort as you would have got from the
oxygen cylinder. There is no upper limit and you can hold the fan till you
get comfort.

(c) Prone Positioning or Prone Ventilation
For 5% people, hand held fan method may not work. They must lie down
in prone position for 4 hr to 16 hr by taking 10 to 15 mins break each hour.

Obese people can take the support of pillows as shown in the figure below

(2) Cough or Chest Congestion or Throat Pain

Consume a small piece (5 gm) of raw/fresh turmeric three times a
day- before breakfast, before lunch and before dinner. If raw turmeric is
not available, boil 1 spoon of turmeric powder in 2 cups of water until the
water becomes half. Strain it and consume 3 times a day. If the problem is
severe ( cough is severe), then take turmeric 6 times a day.

Pregnant lady must take doctor’s suggestion before taking turmeric

Fever turns on the body's immune system. It helps the body fight infection.
Normal fevers between 100° and 104° F (37.8° - 40° C) are good for sick
people. As long as the temperature is ≤ 102°F, there is no need to worry.
If the temperature crosses 102°F, go in for cold compress and cold air for
15 minutes. If the patient starts shivering, stop the process.
After a gap of half an hour, repeat the process of cold compress and
cold air for 15 minutes. Sometimes the temperature is
103°F -104°F, don’t panic. Avoid the intake of anti-pyretic drugs,
which may reduce the temperature but not reduce the chances of
seizure which may otherwise occur due to increased temperature.

If fever >1030F, on a safer side, follow this Giloy concoction.

Add 3-4 black pepper, 1 clove, 10-12 basil leaves, 1 cardamom, 4 gm ginger,
2 inch giloy stem after crushing, 4gm raw turmeric in 400 ml water. Allow
it to boil till water reduces to half. Consume while it is warm.

Dosage: 3 times a day- morning, afternoon, evening when fever is above


1030F preferably empty stomach.

If the loose motions occur more than 6-7 times, then the patient should stop
consuming citrus fruit juice (if he/she is on three step Flu diet) or fruits and
salad (if he/she is on D.I.P. diet) and take only coconut water till loose
motions subside or completely stop.

If the patient complains of vomiting, stop his/her eating and drinking


for 4 hours. If need be, simple water or coconut water can be given.
Vomiting may not be a comfortable thing but it is not bad either. It
is an indication of some infection in the body which the body wants
to get rid of. Don’t panic. Keep calm. Nobody dies by vomiting. Try
to comfort the patient.

It is seen that many people panic when they feel weak or have
nausea. Remember, no one is going to die with weakness and
nausea; there won’t be any permanent damage either. Comfort the
patient by giving him a small piece of fresh ginger 3-4 times a day.
Ginger provides strength. If the patient refuses to do so, crush the
ginger and boil it in water. Add some lemon and little honey to it.
Ask the patient to sip it. He/she will get strength and energy. Once the
temperature subsides, he/she will get rid of all the problems.

(6) Head Ache

Boil 2 gm of crushed ginger in a glass of water and simmer for 5 mins.


Inhale the vapours while sipping it.

Massage with fresh aloe-vera gel for at least 5-7 mins and rest for some
time.

(7) Stomach Ache

Crush ginger and get 1 spoon juice. Crush handful of mint leaves and get 1
spoon juice. Add them in 50ml warm water and consume.

Repeat it 2 to 3 times a day until stomach ache subsides.

(8) Running Nose or Cold

Add 1 spoon of amla powder in 1 glass of warm water and consume it.

Repeat it 2 to 3 times a day.
