(the sounds of language).
2. Create a 30-minute oral presentation to present a n analysis of English morphology and syntax f r o m
a v a r i e t y o f s o u r c e s in g r o u p s .

h e n c e p r o v e s e f f e c t i v e in e v e r y s i t u a t i o n . C o m m u n i c a t i o n d e c i d e s w h e t h e r w e a r e i n c o n t r o l o f a s i t u a t i o n
or otherwise. W e are all aware that language is the currency o f education business. W e are all
b u s i n e s s m e n t o a n e x t e n t b e c a u s e t o b e s u c c e s s f u l i n life w e a r e t h e ' p r o d u c t ' , w h i c h o n l y w e c a n
p r o m o t e ( K a r a j a g i , 2 0 1 6 ) . T h e r e f o r e , s k i l l e d c o m m u n i c a t i o n p l a y s a v i t a l r o l e in t h e p e r s o n a l d e v e l o p m e n t
of an E S L student teacher.

T h e designed t a s k s are t o broaden t h e student teachers' content k n o w l e d g e of linguistics to e n a b l e t h e m


to use English language competently. T o achieve this goal, y o u are to complete a set tasks based o n the
given Big Idea a n d Essential Q u e s t i o n s . T h e Essential Q u e s t i o n s a r e designed to give y o u s o m e s e n s e
o f d i r e c t i o n , p u r p o s e a n d r e l e v a n c e a s y o u a r e e n g a g e d in t h e t a s k s . H e n c e , it w i l l h e l p y o u t o d i g d e e p e r
into t h e content, process a n d concepts o f linguistics, facilitating y o u r personal g r o w t h a s a novice E S L
teacher.

1. Select a text written for children a n d a text written for academic purpose.

3. Conduct a 30 minute group presentation of a n analysis

7. Submit your video recording via Google Classroom.
