SUBJECT: GENERAL GUIDELINES ON PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL

The performance appraisal process provides a means for discussing, planning and reviewing the
performance of each employee.

Performance appraisals influence salaries and promotions, and it is important that Unit Heads /
Supervisors are objective in conducting performance reviews and in assigning overall performance
ratings.

Performance review schedule

Performance appraisals are conducted on the 4 th month so as to be able to discuss performance appraisal
prior to the 150th day or 5th month of a probationary employee and annually for regular employees, every
October of the year. However, Unit Heads/ Supervisors have the option to evaluate his respective Unit
staff internally any time within the evaluation period as a development tool. Each JET HOTEL Unit Head
is responsible for the timely and equitable assessment of the performance and contribution of subordinate
employees.

Processes

HRS will establish the format and timing of all review processes. The completed and acknowledged by
the employee evaluation documents will be retained in the employee’s personnel file.

Salary increase will be based on the result of performance appraisal of employee at the end of the
evaluation period. Salary Increase is not absolute every year for annual performance schedule of regular
employees and that it shall also depend on the establishment’s overall performance. The standard
Performance Evaluation Form (PEF) shall be utilized for this purpose and to gauge the employees’
strengths and weaknesses and be able to use them for the company’s advantage. Also, it will serve as a
basis for Training Needs analysis so that HRS may be able to come up with different programs to enhance
the employees’ skills and knowledge. Unit Head/ Supervisor of the concerned employee may discuss any
proposed action with the employee until all written approvals are obtained.

HRS will review all salary increase/adjustment requests to ensure compliance with company policy and
that they fall within the provided guidelines.
