What is a SmartBoard?
• In 1996, SMART Technologies created
the world’s first interactive
whiteboard.
• Capable of connecting to one or
more laptops, PCs, tablets, or any
other electronic devices.
• Includes a pen tray

finger to navigate, and your palm to erase
• The technology is in the pen tray, so you
can use other instruments in place of your
pen, if necessary
• Able to save what is written on the
SmartBoard and print it out

• The average price ranges
from $2,000-$5,000
• Possibility of technical
problems with the
software
• It needs to be handled
delicately to prevent
damages
• It may be too sensitive
with touch recognition
or not sensitive enough.

• Customize applications to move to your
dock
• You can erase by making a giant circle
then tapping in the center on the
SmartBoard
• “Pin” pages to keep a certain page on the
screen, during the duration of the
lesson.
