Subject: I-REC prices

Introduction
End-users that are interested in buying I-RECs to make a reliable claim about their energy usage often
want to have an estimate of how much this will costs. Similarly, production device owners or organizations
acting on their behalf are interested in how much the sell of I-RECs could give them financially.

The International REC Standard Foundation and prices

The International REC Standard Foundation is a non-profit organization that facilitates a market for
Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) in many countries around the world. As our activities are purely
focused on the facilitation of the market and not in the engagement with the market, we do not have any
information about prices or individual trades. A majority of trades are done through individual bilateral
agreements and as such it is suggested to reach out to registered/public market players. These entities
are participating in the market on a daily basis and are hence much more aware of price statistics. A list
of registered/public market players can be found on the website.

Please note however that it is well known that prices vary significantly depending upon certificates origin
(location, age, device, technology, size, subsidy support, sustainability labels and others). As such there is
not a single commodity price for I-RECs as is common in more fungible markets such as the carbon
markets. The secretariat of the International REC Standard Foundation can be contacted through
secretariat@irecstandard.org in case more information regarding the difference between EAC markets and
carbon markets is desired.

Recent market statistics regarding the volume can be found on the website.
