The amounts inserted against the items in this section shall be in respect of the whole of the works.
Measurement
(a) In the first interim payment, the contractor shall be paid either the actual premium
upon submission of receipts or the amount entered in this item whichever is lesser.
The receipts of Premium paid must be from an approved bank issuing bank
guarantee.
(b) The remaining sum (if any) shall be paid in each subsequent payment in proportion
to the progress of works.

(d) printing and delivery of all approved as-built drawings in hardcopies and softcopies
(CD disc) to the S.O.

For example, struting for trenches, cofferdams,temporary track, gantries, structures
for concrete mixing plant, block yard equipment, work yard sites,temporary sheet
piling, bunds and dewatering to keep work free of water etc;
(b) Temporary works required during the course of construction of permanent works in
order to prevent from causing damages to existing properties; For example,
temporary crossing over existing drain, temporary culvert or earth drain for
channelising existing water course etc;
(i) Indemnities to the employer against any claim by owner of neighbouring lots for
losses or damages arising from accidental flooding, siltation etc.; and,

(b) making arrangements with owners and occupiers of land temporarily acquired and
costs arising therefrom;
(c) Preparing, amending and submitting to the S.O. and other relevant bodies,
drawings showing proposals and programme including liaison;
(f) Ramps, structures, footways, kerbs, fencing and road marking etc. where
necessary;
(l) Providing of approved electrically operated signals for traffic control as may be
directed;
(n) Provision of alternative access for other contractors if their accesses are hindered
by the works in the contract.
1.13 SURVEY

provided by other licensed surveyor before commencement of works;
(c) Provision of survey instrument and chainmen for the use of S.O. and his
representatives;
(d) Any other survey related to the works as directed by the S.O.

(a) Liaison with the Authorities in order to obtaining necessary information and
document relating to the works;
(b) Compliance with the contemporary laws and regulations of the Authorities
including all report, photographs, test etc required by the Authorities;
(d) Arrangement for site inspection (including preparation, arrangement for the
client’s/Engineer’s endorsement on letter/ document and submission of the same )
by the Authorities and all cost incurred ;
(e) Obtaining all necessary approval and hand over to local authorities on behalf of the
Employer (with Employer’s consent); and,
(f) Keeping completed works clean for the purpose of inspection by the Authorities.

(e) cleaning and removal of all silt, constructional debris, chokage etc from roadside
drain, sumps and culverts.

The measurement for payment for the occupational safety and health officer shall be in
proportion to the progress of works.
Item Coverage
The cost for the occupational safety and health officer shall be for the duration of the
Contract and shall include:-
(a) The wages and other enumerations paid to the site staff inclusive of overtime
payments.
(b) Cost and expenses incurred consequent upon the employment for hiring of the site
staff including payment of employee provident fund, insurance, medical and
hospitalization.
(d) Substitution of site staff when the appointed traffic management staff is absent or on
leave.
Measurement
The measurement for payment for the health and safety report shall be the acceptance of the
health and safety report in accordance to the format and copies as stipulated in the
guideline / specification, bill of quantities and employer’s requirement.
Item Coverage
The item for health and safety report shall be in accordance with the Preambles to the Bill of
Quantities General Directions and shall include:-
(a) the costs of literatures, references and consultation in the production of the health
and safety report.

Payment shall be made in each interim payment in proportion to the progress of work.

(a) prevention of the deposition of any debris, rubbish, silt, waste materials, foul water,
chemicals etc. arising from the carrying out of the works into the existing
streams/waterways;
(b) diverting existing drains, waterways etc. encountered during the progress of the
Works without disrupting its flow system and subsequently reinstate the same if the
diversion is temporary;
(c) ensuring tyres of all vehicles leaving the site are free of mud;
(f) and carrying out of the works so as to cause minimum interference to the
environment as well as existing properties;
(h) providing, maintaining and removing all necessary temporary ways of access to and
within the site, as well as those from the site to public roads;
