I am Pastor, currently assigned at ________________.

Last February 16, 2012, I arranged for the

excavation of a property belonging to the Church of God of __________________for the purpose of
constructing a chapel for Barangay _____________ since the members of the church needed a praise of
worship.

At 4:45 in the afternoon, the same time that the works on the property were done for the day,
as I was about to depart for _____________________ where me and my family resides, I was
approached by Brgy. Kagawad Popo of _____________________

The following is the summary of what transpired after:

I was aboard my tricycle and was about to depart when Kgd. Popo said “Pastor, please wait”. I
asked him why in response. He said “why did you start the excavation when our talks regarding the
property are not yet finished?”. I wondered why he said that because to my mind we already agreed
that excavation can start provided that at least 1 meter is allotted for his house. He then insisted that we
talk first but I decided not to alight from the tricycle since I saw him carrying a bolo. After this, he started
confronting me and said “Why can’t you understand that our negotiations are not yet finished?”. Since
I did not want anything untoward to happen, I told him “Kagawad, let us talk tomorrow at the
Barangay Hall since it is already getting dark.” He refused to let me go however by standing in front of
the tricycle. I tried to ask for his patience since I still had to go home to Wing 01 but to no avail. He then
stated that “You are an idiot. You do not have the right to evict me, I am originally from Tagao while
you are merely an outsider. You are a stupid Pastor” after which he turned his back from me, fuming
with anger. There were people around during that time.

One of his companions even said “just scare him or go ahead and hack him” while Kgd. Popo’s
uncle said “that is a dumb pastor”. This was heard by two natives.

I did not have it in me to say the same words hurled at me but in reply, since there were
witnesses around, I merely said “this is a hold-up Kagawad, what you did to me”. As I was about to
bring out my cellphone, telling him that since this is what he wanted, and that I am about to call a police
officer, he said “I almost forgot, I have a bolo, give it to me”, then his companion handed him his bolo.

During that time, because of fear and being hurt by his harsh words, I did not know what to do.
As he pointed his bolo at me, I blurted out, “you are saying I’am stupid Konsehal, but you are also
stupid”, I just returned his words. I then took the chance to start my vehicle and drove away from him.

Immediately after this, I asked for help from a barangay police who was nearby. I also took this
chance to call a police from Wing, Chun, and asked for assistance since I was afraid they might follow
me. When the police arrived, they first talked to Kgd. Roger Popo, then they talked to me. After the
police have talked to me, I went home to Wing 01, Chun.
