6 VGO-HDT UNIT:
Design capacity:5.4MMTPA
Licensor: Axens, France
Unit objective:
It is designed to produce FCC feed containing less than 600ppmw
Sulphur and 500ppmw N2
Feed source:
. Hydro treated VGO to FCCU
Process description:
VGO-HDT stands for vacuum gas oil hydrotreating unit
Feed is treated in this unit called feed preparation unit. Hydrogen
gas is supplied for cracking 21% of undesired cracking take place in the
process of treating the feed. Its running time is 8320 hours on an
average with a capacity of 5.4MMTPA or 650 tons/hours or 700m/hour.
There are 8 heat exchangers present after it which are FEES i.e. feed
effluent exchangers. IN the fractionator the feed get separated with
naphtha at the top, diesel at the middle and VGO at the bottom.
Centralized compressor increase the pressure from2-5kg/cm2 to 80-
100kg/cm2.The recycle gas contains 92-98%H2 gas .We get the
hydrotreated VGO as the final product with some other by products like
cracket products,naptha etc.

3.7 DHDT Unit:

Design capacity:5.2MMTPA
Licensor: SHELL GLOBAL
Unit objective:
The primary purpose of the unit is to remove Sulphur from the
diesel and to increase the cetane number by reducing the aromatic
contents.
Feed source:
. kerosene, AGO&VGO from AVU
. Coker gas oil from DCU
. HCN, LCO&HCO from FCC
Process description-
DHDT stands for diesel hydro treating. Here diesel is hydrotreated
to remove Sulphur, oxygen, nitrogen, metals and for olefin
saturating. Feed is
. AGO (atmospheric gas oil), VD (vacuum diesel) and Kero from
AVU
. LCO (light cycle oil), HCN (heavy cycle naphtha from DCU.
Removal of Sulphur from hydrocarbons feedstock as hydrogen
sulphide take place when the feed is contacted with hydrogen –rich
gas in presence of a catalyst at high pressure and temperature.
catalytic dewaxing function is included to convert the waxy molecule
in the feeds this way improving cold flow properties of the diesel
product.
3.8. NHT unit:
Design capacity :3960KMTA
Licensor: UOP, USA
Unit objective:
The objective of the NHT is to treat the blended naphtha feed to
meet CCR plat forming feed specifications of less than 0.5ppmw
Sulphur and less than 0.5mmpw N2.
Feed source:
.SR naphtha from AVU
. FCC MCN
. Stabilized naphtha from DHDT
. Coker heavy naphtha
. Make up H2
Process description:
The uop naphtha hydro treating process is catalytic refining process
employing a select and hydrogen rich gas stream decompose organic
Sulphur, oxygen and nitrogen compound contained in hydrocarbon
fractions. The naphtha hydrotreating process makes a major
contribution to the ease of operation and economy of platforming.
3.9.CCR unit:
Design capacity:3175kg/hr.
Licensor: UOP, USA
Unit objective:
The CCR regenerator section of system of integrated equipment’s
that is separates from, still connected to the plant forming reactor
section and provide clean.
Process description:
CCRU stands for continuous catalytic reforming unit. Feed is the
product of NFU.Feed passes through a filter and then goes to
packnox. packnox is the plate and frame type FEE which is used
when pressure difference is very less.
3.10.FCC unit:
Design capacity:4.17MMTPA
Licensor: CB & Lummus IOCL
Unit objectives:
The primary objective of INMAX FCCU is max. the production of
lighter hydrocarbon through cracking of vacuum gas oil from VGO
HDT.
Process description:
Hot feed to FCC unit is received from the VGO HDT Unit and cold
VGO feed from off side storage. The feed is heated in the pre-heat
exchanger and send to fresh feed pre heater furnace for heating the
vacuum gas oil feed to the required riser inlet topflight Coker
naphtha is injected through a nozzle provide at the bottom of the
reactor riser.
3.11.SRU Unit:
Design capacity:1050 TPD
Licensor: Black& Veatch
Unit objectives: Sulphur oxides are detrimental to the environment.
Product description:
Amine acid gas mixed with tail gas is routed to acid gas knock out
drum for removal of free liquid. The gas exiting the knock out drum
is the heated to a temperature of 221degree Celsius by passing it
through exchanger operating on HP steam.
3.12.NFU Unit:
Design capacity :2980KMTA
Licensor: UOP, USA
Unit objective: Is to produce suitable cut off hydrated naphtha for
CRR plat former feed.
Process description:
The cooled hydrated naphtha from NHDT is fed to depentaniser
feed bottom exchanger. The uop naphtha hydro treating process is
catalytic refining process employing a select and hydrogen rich gas
stream decompose organic Sulphur, oxygen and nitrogen compound
contained in hydrocarbon fractions. The naphtha hydrotreating
process makes a major contribution to the ease of operation and
economy of platforming
