Dublin’s sights



Grafton S treet:


Grafton Street is known for one of the
main streets in Dublin. The most
things you can do there is to shop.
This street is pretty old, it got named
from Duke of Grafton and they
finished the street at the year 1708. In
Grafton Street, there are always some
street artists or musicians who talk to
the people.


Some of the most famous shops are:

-Weirs

-Brown Thomas Department Store

-River Island clothes


Temple Bar:



Temple Bar is in the center of Dublin in
Ireland. The bar got the name from the Family
Temple. This family lived in the years 1700.
The Temple bar was once a normal house.
But at 1900, the quarter lost population and
they wanted to make from this quarter a train
station. But then many people rented the
areas to build there a shop or something.
Then from time to time this quarter became
more and more famous until the family build
their Temple bar in this quarter.






Irish Leprechaun:


The Irish Leprechaun is a little creature
that is wearing a green hat and green
clothes. They have often a beard and a
pipe to smoke with. The Irish people think,
that those leprechauns hides their gold at
the end of a rainbow. There are many
myths about the Irish leprechaun. 






Ha’penny Bridge:


The Ha’penny Bridge is a bridge in Dublin.
This bridge got its name because you got to
pay 1 penny to cross the bridge previously.
Before the bridge, there was a ferry which
drove you to the other side. But one time,
they had to decide to build a bridge or to get
a new ferry, because the previous ferry was
old. The is 43 meter long and let you cross
the Liffey river. Many people are coming there
today and this bridge is known as a sight.
