Ignition Timing

Ignition Timing Adjustment
Remove the magneto cover.
Check to see if the mark on the magneto stator is
aligned with the mark on the crankcase.
lf the marks are not aligned, loosen the magneto
stator screws and turn the magneto stator.

1: Timing Mark (Crankcase) 4. Screw

2. Stator Plate 5. 2 mm (0.08 in)
A. Timing Mark (Crankcase) C. Screws 3. Standard Timing Mark
B. Timing Mark (Stator Plate) D. Magneto Flywheel
Loosen the stator.screws.
Adjust the timing by shifting the stator position
within the two lines just scribed.
Tighten the screws securely.
Install the magneto cover. *i*

The ignition timing can be adjusted to change the
oFor bast engine performance, it is very important
power band to suit the rider's preference or ability.

Remove the magneto cover.

The timing mark on the magneto stator will be
aligned with the mark on the crankcase.
Scribe a line on the stator plate 2 mm (0.08 in) apart
Tighten the stator screws securely.
Install the magneto cover.
