Attendance Procedures
Excuses must be returned within 3 days of the absence. Early
Dismissals prior to 2:00 PM count as a ½ day absence.
Attendance letters are sent through Skyward (student
information system) after the 7th absence. If you are having
trouble getting your child to school, please let us know. We can
help!
Arrival Procedures
The time for drop-off starts at 7:45 AM. Students are not
permitted to be dropped off prior to 7:45 AM, as there are
not any adults present to supervise your child. If your child is
arriving to LES after 8:20, please sign your child in at the
office.

Early Dismissal Procedures

If your child is leaving school early, please send a signed note
to school with your child that morning, stating the time and
reason they will be leaving. When you arrive to pick your child
up from school, please enter the office to sign your child out
for the day.

Dismissal Procedures
If your child is being picked up at the end of the school day,
your child will be dismissed near the staff/visitor parking lot.
Only those who are identified on the emergency contact list
may pick up a child. Photo ID may be required, so please have
it ready. We will not release students to anyone who is not on
the emergency contact list. In September, pick-up tags will
be created for parents/guardians/emergency contacts of
students that are picked up daily.

*Sending a note is the best way to ensure your child is on the

Pick-Up List. Phone calls may occur in certain situations, but
please do your best to send a note ahead of time.

PBIS – Positive Behavior Intervention and Support

Our school participates in a school-wide positive behavior

system. Students will be rewarded for appropriate behaviors
throughout the school. The expectations are based on four
principles: Respectful, Responsible, Ready, and Safe. Students
that exhibit these positive actions will be rewarded with a
“PAW ticket”. Each day, students will place their tickets into
prize buckets to be entered to win that specific prize.
Winners are drawn weekly.

As students earn PAW tickets, teachers count and place

PAWS on the “Paw Wall” to have a classroom celebration.
Once a magic number of PAWS appear on the “Paw Wall”, the
whole school has a PBIS Celebration Day!

In addition to winning prizes, students have an opportunity to

win a “Purple Ticket” for being respectful, responsible, ready,
and safe. These students are celebrated by eating lunch with
the principals and make it on the Principal’s 200 Club Wall to
win an additional prize.

Lastly, students have a daily chance to have their picture

placed on the “Paw of Fame Wall” located in the office. If
your child’s paw ticket is drawn for the Paw of Fame, their
picture is taken and they win a small prize.
Custody
If you have a court order, we must have it on file or, by law,
we cannot keep a parent from taking their child from the
school. When custody orders are updated, please get a copy
to the school as soon as possible.

Cafeteria Prices
All LES students will receive a free breakfast and a free
lunch. No lunch money is necessary for meals.
