Guidelines for Seminar (06EC86) – 2011

1. Register seminar topic on or before 10-03-2011

2. Before registering, discuss Seminar topic with your project guide.

3. Choose a topic (preferably IEEE papers or current topics) which is not presented in

previous years (Check the topic with previous two year seminar list and you can get

full IEEE paper from Devendrappa, Digital Library).

4. Submit the Seminar Abstract within 18-03-11 to the Seminar In-charge which

includes:

 Front page
 Abstract (which includes the summary of the talk)
(File is not required, staple the two pages and submit)

5. All students are informed to attend as many seminars as possible.

Attending 9 seminars is compulsory excluding their own.

Get the signature from the seminar in-charge for attending each seminar in the

given format.(Format attached with the mail)

6. Schedule will be announced on the notice board

7. Submit the complete seminar report before one week of seminar.

8. Format will be announced on the notice board, check the notice board regularly.

9. Make 3 copies of seminar report (1. Student 2. Seminar In-charge 3.Library)

10. Printout must be taken on bond sheets not in zerox sheets.

11. Before taking the printout, show the softcopy to the In-charge.

12. Proper action will be taken if any of the deadlines are missed.

Presentation:
• Number of PPTs - 15 3 (If you are playing Videos, shouldn’t exceed 3 minutes)

• Allotted time: 25mins + 05 Mins. Q&A

• PPT should contain only points, figs, formulae some useful info, not complete theory
(Merely reading foils are not entertained).

• Mail the Abstract, Foils and Complete Seminar Report to the following mail ids before
submitting the Reports: electronics.dsce@gmail.com and osecds@gmail.com

Seminar Report Format:

• Report should contain 20 to 25 pages

• Spiral Binding : Transparent sheet(Front) and Translucent(back) for spiral bind

• Organization of Report:

 Acknowledgements
 Abstract
 Contents with Page numbers
 List of Figs. and Tables(Optional)

 Chapters
 Introduction

• Paper Size: A4

• Margin: Left-1.25", Right-1", Top-1", Bottom- 1"

• Header: Header should have Seminar topic at left corner & (year) 2010-11 right corner
as shown below.

• Footer: Department of ECE, DSCE left corner and page no. right corner as shown
below.

• Text Font: Times New Roman, Regular

• Alignment: Justified

• Line Spacing: 1.5 lines

• Chapters, paragraphs should be properly numbered and same must be reflected in contents.

 Heading2 – 14 Size ,Bold
 Text matter - 12 Size
