STATE OF ALABAMA

PROCLAMATION
BY THE GOVERNOR
WHEREAS,the District Attorney for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit ofAlabama
has noti ed this of ce that on the evening of September 6, 1994, the body of Terri
c. Nichols Gingerich, a female, was found in the side yard of her residence in
Sumiton, Walker County, Alabama; and
WHEREAS,Ms. Gingerich died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head; and
WHEREAS,an investigation has been conducted and is ongoing in this matter;
however, to this date it appears that at this point in the investigation, the of cers
have not been able to determine the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators of
said crime and they are still unknown; and
WHEREAS,thecircumstances surrounding the crime indicate that every effort
shouldbemadeto apprehend and convict the perpetrator or perpetrators and it is
believed that the offering of a reward might prove helpful in the apprehension and
conviction of the person or persons responsible for this erime.
NOW,THEREFORE, I, JimFolsom, by virtue of the power and authority vested
in me as Governor of the State of Alabama under the Code of Alabama, $15-9-1 do
hereby publish this proclamation, offering a reward of $7,500, for information
leadingto the arrest and conviction of the guilty person or persons, based upon the
conviction of the crime of rst degree murder or any other crime punishable by
death as set forth in $15-9-1 of the Code of Alabama (1975) ; and further provided
that he, she, or they have not been arrested at the time of issuance of this
proclamation. Entitlement to this reward shall include only private citizens and shall
not include members of any government law enforcement agency or their blood
relatives.
